Extremely poor room
We spent 2 nights. The room was inadequate - no draws to store clothing, small wardrobe with no hangers for trousers or slacks. The bathroom was far too small, entry had to be sideways, and no room to towel off after a shower, which was extremely tight to get into. When advised to reception that room was inadequate and not as ordered, we were fobbed off to take it or leave it as it was the only room they had left - they were full up. Had we known this was the situation when booking, we would not have booked. The website does not describe all the rooms available - only their best rooms.

The location its very close to downtown and important places. The only issue they dont have elevator. The STAFF is amazing.

This hotel is as it promises to be - and more. Somehow it is rated 2 stars but it’s at least 3. The hotel staff take pride in their property - and it shows in all aspects. It is clean and functional (although no elevator) and the air conditioning was very welcome! The building is a typical a French urban building on a prominent and popular square with Al fresco seating and numerous cafes to choose from. Right near the Loire River and a very short walk from the old town and pedestrian shopping streets. Street parking was readily available at every time except dinner and was free overnight. There are many activities possible in the surrounding area. This is a classy small city and well-recommended for a visit!

The room I booked on the web showed a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs - this was the only reason I booked this hotel. I was very disappointed to be told that this is just a standard picture on their webpage and there are only 2 rooms with a balcony. This is misleading - I would have stayed elsewhere. We knew we were in the city centre and the location is lovely and convenient. What we didn’t expect was the bar / restaurant beneath our room to be “kicking” until 3:30 am. We didn’t sleep at all - not good as we had a 400 mile drive the next morning. My advice? Be honest with the description of the location and room type. On another occasion we probably would have joined in at the bar downstairs😜😜👍👍

Why not book the superior double balcony room, if your wish was to have a balcony? As with all hotels, you have all the photos for each of the room categories, there are no surprises.

Reception is up 2 long flights of stairs and some of the rooms are over a night club, which was a bit noisy. Room was pleasant, but very cold, but fall came early and rainy. The breakfast buffet looked well done, but we did not partake. Wifi only worked for me if I stood outside the reception desk.

We stayed one night just one night. The receptionist was frieny, knowledgeable and helpful too. The room was comfortable enough and the aircon was a blessing. There were lots of stairs to climb to get to the room which was great if you need to feel you are working off some the holiday excesses.

This was a perfectly fine hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The room was on the small side, but we weren't there much anyway. Note if you get the room with the balcony, you can't actually go out on it -- it is just for looks. The breakfast was convenient as well if you didn't want to find your own spot. Lots of great lunch/dinner dining within walking distance.

Great value, lovely experience.
Had to travel for a conference. This hotel was very affordable, and a really nice stay for the money. Staff were exceedingly helpful and spoke both English and French. The hotel is in a really nice area from which you can explore Tours and find plenty of places to eat nearby. I would absolutely stay here again if I needed to return to Tours.

The rooms were small and dated. There is no elevator or air conditioning. The bed is just comfortable enough to be considered comfortable. This was a last minute replacement for another property that canceled on us without notice. It served its purpose for the one night we stayed. If ever in a Tours again, we will look for a nicer accommodation.

A classic French hotel. Staff very friendly, room spotless. Small but fine for our purposes. Able to leave luggage after check out time. Convenient location for restaurants and other sight-seeing. Pretty easy walk from train station. Quiet, comfortable bed and nice hot shower.

Great secure bike parking, close to Loire a Velo. Amazing location within walking distance of plenty of nightlife and food options. Only complaint was a lengthy walk up many flights of stairs.

Nice hotel
Nice hotel with easy parking in front of hotel. But there is a club below the hotel, we checked in on Monday and checked out on Tuesday. Monday night the club was closed, so do beware of the noise from the club on other days of the week.

Great location! In the heart of the action.
What a great find. Cannot beat the location - walking distance to Tourist areas and river. Room a bit small - but, hey...you're in France. Up 4 flights of stairs insures that you stay in shape during your vacation. A bit noisy at night...our first clue were the earplugs they gave us at checking. But we kept the window open and took in all the senses of the town.

We were able to book one of the last two rooms available for a good price. the room was on the top floor in the eaves and was quite cosy. Luckily neither I nor my partner are very tall. The hotel is situated in a great location in the heart of the old town and there is on street parking directly outside in the square. worth noting that parking is NOT free during the day.

This hotel was value for money being that it was in a great position for the town centre. However, being in an attic room without air con meant it was extremely hot. Very little head room and tiny shower 'cupboard' made for slightly uncomfortable living accomodation. Breakfast basic self service. Overall, our room was ok for one night but wouldn't want to stay longer.

So much better than a 2 star. It's great! Book it.
What a great independent little hotel in a fabulous central location. We loved it. Simply brilliant. I have stayed in 3 and 4 star hotels that aren't nice as this one. The welcome we received was great, without asking the owner brought us a map and told us where the shops were, the restaurants and also the Cathedral with the night light show. He spoke some English and of course French. The room is basic but very clean and tidy and nicely decorated. There is a pay and display car park just outside the hotel but also lots of street parking too. A little bit tricky at times I guess but we managed it just fine. There are bars and restaurants outside, and just 5 minutes walk towards the Cathedral you'll find loads more as well. Beware though if you have mobility issues as the hotel has stairs and I didn't see a lift anywhere. We didn't have breakfast but it smelt good. So, all in all book it. It is very keenly priced yet still an excellent town centre hotel.

Fairly basic, but everything worked.
Tours is a really great visit. We just had one night here, but will be back. Hotel is not for the elderly or mobility impaired. Reception is on the 2nd floor and all rooms are here or above. There is no lift. We were there on a Friday night and despite double-glazing the noise from revellers outside was pronounced. Good breakfast constantly monitored and lovely reception staff. If you're a night bird and love stairs, please use this simple hotel. Wonderful location and lovely staff in a delightful city.

Very nice hotel close to inner city
We had a lovely experience. We arrived at the hotel after a long day biking (on the Loire a velo route) and were graciously assisted in getting to a room by a very sympathetic receptionist who showed us the biking garage and upgraded our room because we looked so tired. I have nothing but nice things to say.

Good hotel in old town
The room was great with views over the square and a very comfortable bed with good bedlinen. Perfect location in the old town with the tram 2 minutes away and easy walking distance to the cathedral, musee beaux arts and the station. The staff were excellent - very helpful.

The hotel was accommodating and clean - price was right - however there was NO elevator and we had to climb 5 flights of stairs every time we went in and out / plus bring luggage up ourselves I was very disapppointed about that and feel for people who are handicapped or disabled as it NOT stated anywhere online or website and I think people should be made aware before hand. As far as A European hotel it is what you would expect and very sweet - even the main desk on the 4th flor

We just would like to correct some informations you give : the fact that our hotel is not equipped of any elevator is written on all of our websites (we pay a special attention to that) and it cannot be a surprise at your arrival. We are in a charming building of the old town of Tours and it is not a possibility to install an elevator. That is the same situation for all the other surrounding hotels and for big cities in general. In contrary to what you write, our reception is on the 2nd floor of the building, not on the 4th. Mind the stairs!
Parking is difficult as the public car park opposite the hotel is very busy and has a maximum stay of 2 hours up to 18.30. It is free from then until 09.00. Check is is not until 16.00 which ties in well with the car park but not if you want to get checked in and then go off for the rest of the day to explore. Reception is up two floors (4 flights of stairs) then the bedrooms are on the next 2 floors. Our room was on the top floor and there is no lift. The room was pretty basic but clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower quite powerful. There were heaters in both the bedroom and bathroom so it was nice and warm. There is no hospitality tray but the receptionist was very helpful and made us a tray of tea to take to our room for a small charge.. Breakfast is good value with a nice selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt, cheeses croissants and bread together with fruit juices, fresh coffee and hot chocolate or teas. Perfectly acceptable for a night stopover.

Dear KIM, We thank you for giving us your feeling about our services. Concerning the parking place, it is a public place which is free from 6.30pm to 9.00am the day after. Our guests usually find a parking place and do not need to ask us a paying private place. There is a few number of hotel that can provide a parking place like ours in Old Tours city. As far as the stairs are concerned, the information is given on all our websites and it cannot be a surprise when arriving. None hotel of the old town is equipped with a lift and it is thye same situation for several hotels in French big cities. Installing a lift is not a possibility for us and it would disrespect our building charm. Hoping to see you again, Best Regards Tony

No elevator, no free parking
The parking is in the streets near the hotel - you have to find one by yourself and post for it! No elevator, had to carry our luggage to the 4th floor by ourselves. Great location though.

Great for night on the town and shopping if ur fit
Lovely hotel, good for a romantic night on the town. Street is a bit noisy though. Bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, and after thinking there would be free parking outside (unavailable due to street market we weren't warned about) we had to drive to a 12 Euro underground facility and walk back. Reception is 2 floors up and our room was on 2nd floor, so you need to be fit and pack light!
