We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was very good, clean, comfortable and well equipped, staff pleasant and friendly. The high spot was breakfast which is really excellent. Lots of choice and very good quality.

The room was perfectly comfortable and clean, but looking rather "tired" - patches of plaster on the walls where repairs had clearly taken place, and non-matching tiles on the shower surround where it looked as though the shower valve had been replaced.

Lovely building but rooms have paper thin walls with a noisy neighbour! Dinner was like faulty towers! Our pate starter was given to other diners after we had ordered it! Half of the mains were not available, and then they tried to charge us twice for the meal!

Large hotel centrally located for all Torquay amenities. Clean, free limited parking available.Helpful and friendly staff. Only criticism I found the double room on the small size for a couple.

Hotel in the communal areas is lovely. Entrance and bar areas are beautiful. Corridors on the other hand are getting tired and have holes in the carpet. The rooms are nice but could do with updating. No double glazing so noice from the road can be heard. Also the shower system is inadequate. Staff are professional and polite and I can’t fault them at all.

Lobby, reception, bar and dining room looks great. Very tired upstair passed first floor. Need touch up. Stayed in room 103. Shower not easy to use have to take it down to turn on and off, extraction unit not working. Hand rail only one can be used as other to close to wall. Room fine.

Lovely hotel in a great position with views of the sea. Considering it was low season, I was put in a corner room facing a wall. Dinner was a little disappointing- room for improvement.

Paid for a sea view, which I got if you stand in the corner of the room and stretch your neck. Noisy couple having an argument at 01:30 am, security guard comes knocking, loudly on their door at 3am to see if all well. Which is good but for the fact it had been quit for the last 1hr 15min.

Absolutely over the moon the hotel is lovely very festive friendly staff we have had a lovely stay so far we commented on the heating being over hot but apart from that we have been upgraded to a sea view room which is gorgeous

The indoor swimming pool was pleasant, albeit a little cold in the changing rooms. Our room was small and odd shaped so would have benefited from removing one chair and table. An alarm went off early evening, which wasn't very nice as we didn't know if it was a just a drill and there was no phone to enquire. The wedding downstairs made the area unpleasantly noisy when we were there. The staff were helpful, especially the early receptionist and porter.

It was nice but was disappointed as was lead to believe it is a 4 star hotel but when talking to some locals they informed us that its only a 2 star. It does need a lot of updating the indoor swimming pool was cold and not that clean. The room we stayed in was lovely clean but in need if updating. Breakfast was good. The staff was friendly. I would stay again but i do think they need to udate their wedsite as i was expecting more from the swimming pool

The hotel is well located right across from the seafront and walkable distance to Torquay town center. The rooms were in need of attention. Room service didn’t come to our room in the three days that we stayed. The breakfast was very nice and the host was always very accommodating. However the bar closed early each of the days we were there. As early as 9:30pm on the Sunday. We read that the hotel had a fire a few years ago and it was clear work still needed to be done. The ceiling in the main bar/dining area needed attention and clearly showed signs of some water damage from the roof, where water was clearly seen to pool. With some improvements this hotel could certainly get back to it’s supposedly 4 star rating. It isn’t there right now. One of the lifts also broke down when we were there. Sadly it has a qorn and tired look to it. But the staff were friendly and polite.
