Disappointing, horrible experience
My experience travelling to Toronto has always been positive except for my stay at the Hipster Bachelor Pad. Communicating with the owner was difficult and spotty - they use two different phone numbers and from both I didn't get responses from them and also wasn't receiving texts they said they sent. It was quite stressful not knowing whether I would get access into the building or not until I arrived, especially since it was a cold winter day with all our luggage - luckily the owner was outside the building and was able to let us in - otherwise we never received the code they said they'd send us. Room is dark, can't open window curtains because someone next door was always standing RIGHT THERE looking in. Bathroom was freezing cold. The walls were thin so we could hear everything the people upstairs were doing all night, every single step. Worst of all the shower drain was COMPLETELY clogged - so we weren't able to shower at all during our two night stay - I let the water run for 15 seconds before realizing this, and the bathroom was flooded and about to flood the bedroom. When I called the owner about this, they didn't pick up so I left a voicemail and didn't get a response. The next day when we checked out and I texted them reminding them about the clogged shower, she then responded and said she'd get a plumber to look at it the next day - not helpful to us when we're leaving. Would never stay here again and would recommend against it. Horrible experience, huge waste of $.
Pros: In person the owner was pleasant enough helpful with TV and internet info, location is good.
Cons: Communication, bathroom should be usable.
