This was our last stop on a seven day holiday visit before we headed home. We were travelling with two service dogs. The man at the counter ignored us for four minutes after making eye contact with us before finally asking us what we wanted. We were informed they didn’t accept pets even though both dogs were clearly wearing service vests and leashes. He asked for proof that they were service dogs. He gave us a room on the first floor, highway side, in the middle of a construction zone. A coworker came up when he was checking us in and said something to him about the construction and he said “oh the room will be fine for them”. The room was okay, not great but we were basically just there to sleep and head home. Someone knocked on our door at five thirty in the morning upsetting my dog who barked, waking everyone up.
When we were packing the car we were stopped on the way out and asked what room we were in and again told dogs weren’t allowed. Again both dogs were clearly in their service dog vests and leashes. We felt so uncomfortable we didn’t end up going back in to eat breakfast and grab a coffee. We just left. I don’t think I will ever stay at a comfort inn again.
