Over 2200 sf. of living space. Breathtaking, long-range mountain views from over 3600 ft. can be enjoyed from the two levels of wraparound decks with hot tub and rockers. Two story wall of windows on main level to further enjoy the views. Beautifully decorated with primarily hand crafted solid wood furniture from the local area. Beautiful, newly refinished hardwood floors on main level and brand new laminate (that looks like hardwood) in basement. Wood-burning custom stone fireplace. One bedroom and one bath on each of the three levels. Kitchenette and living area in basement, making the lower level almost like a separate home. (Ideal for two families traveling together or when privacy is needed/wanted.) Billiards table. Free-standing video arcade machine with 60 classic games. Two flat screen TVs with streaming capabilities,Picnic table, fire pit, hammock ,rope swing, and charcoal grill. Lake Nantahala is at the bottom of the road (approximately 3/4 mile from chalet) and we are only about five mins. from the marina where you can rent boats and kayaks and eat in the restaurant. (The marina and restaurant are seasonal.)We are also 5 minutes from Nantahala wedding venue! Close to whitewater rafting on the world famous Nantahala River. Approx. 45 mins. to Murphy and approx. 45 mins. to Franklin. The Bartram Trail is less than five mins. away for you hikers. Horseback riding nearby. Truly a relaxing and memorable getaway. Plenty to do nearby, or plenty to keep you occupied if you don't want to leave the property. Due to our remote location, we do get a cell signal in the chalet ,but weak at times. There is no land line. It is not necessary to have a four wheel drive vehicle .Please put vehicle in low gear and proceed at 10 mph and you will have no problem!...take Rhododendron (starting ascent up mountain and do not use any other directions)to Hemlock and then follow "Bear Rock Chalet" signs! Absolutely no smoking inside the chalet, please. Also guests do not have to be concerned about water shortages(as is fairly common), for we installed a 4,000 gallon filtered water reservoir! The house is beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed for a relaxing stay. It IS up a very narrow, at times steep road but the view and quiet are so worth it. The wifi is not strong enough for doing telework, but for a vacation it is adequate. Highly recommend for groups. John was always available with a quick phone call to answer any questions we may have had. The cabin is perfectly located for day trips to Asheville and the Smoky Mountains, but still secluded enough for some well needed R&R. The lake itself is amazing. If you want to hit the lake for an afternoon of boating or kayaking, the Lake End marina down the street was awesome and staffed by some of the friendliest people I've ever met. Ideal for families and a true get away. Very clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and to enjoy some quiet time in the mountains. Kids loves the swing, pool table, arcade and board games. Parents loved the deck, the hot tub and the view of the mountains. Directions are accurate just need to follow them and not rely on GPS. Lots do do in the area including boating on the lake, whitewater rafting and a nearby trout farm! I highy recommend this place and appreciate Johns prompt attention through the process. ##### Pete V. This property was by far the cleanest and most comfortable property that we have stayed in. The ride up to the cabin from the main road was a bit scary but we managed it fine. If there was snow it may have been more difficult. John was a great host and answered all of my questions quickly. Loved the house! It was very well stocked with anything that we could have needed. Oct 31, 2018 #### Wonderful NC cabin This cabin was fabulous...from the view to the cleanliness and the entertainment it provided. It was dark when we arrived, so we were surprised/delighted when we woke up the next morning and saw the view. It was perfect for my children ages 8 & 19- we spent many hours playing pool and old school video games. The kitchen had plenty of pots/pans and other items any cook would need. Can't wait to go back again soon. BTW...our favorite was the rope swing by the cabin- not sure if it belonged to this cabin or not but we had a blast. ##### Kim B. It is very secluded and private which is great for us, you can only see one other house and no one was there the whole week. Hot tub was great for sunset views and kids loved the big rope swing. The view from the master loft early morning was great, it's like being in a big tree house. House was very clean. Roads are steep but well maintained and once you get close to house drive and parking is level. No complaints at all with property, house was well stocked with everything we needed. The owners communication was top notch and he even went above and beyond and let us adjust our stay forward by one night due to a death in the family since the house wasn't booked that night, we are very grateful for that, thanks again for everything! ##### Joe H.
