Breakfast was great. Evening meal very limited. Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. There was no written information in the rooms about meal times etc. Hotel was clean and tidy. But late night noise kept us awake till 3am. Mattress and pillows were not to my liking and I got up with a headache and backache. There was NO mattress cover and the sheet was too small for the bed. Likewise the duvet was small and inside an oversized cover. The lack of a plug socket either side of the bed meant I had to have an extension cable running across the room so that I could plug my CPAP machine in at night. This presented as a trip hazard during the night when I needed the bathroom. Not a very successful stay unfortunately.

Holiday Inn
Hotel was well located near main roads but nothing very much nearby. We stayed as it’s close to the racecourse. Fairly basic. Odd smell in the corridors but not in the room. Bathroom had mould around shower door and really could do with an update. Bedroom very spacious and comfortable. Noisy air con. Has good car park.

Really nice free breakfast
Stay here on a regular basis as it’s in a great location while working in the Essex area. Large car park, speedy check in and nice sized room. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended.

Cheap and Cheerful - Great Breakfast
Just stayed over for one night for a business meeting. Comfortable, clean, friendly staff and really nice choice for breakfast. Lots of parking also and great location next to an M&S food hall in a service station. Will return.

All you want from a budget hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sounds like a small thing but I liked the fact that there was a landline in the room so I could get an alarm call to back up my phone. Breakfast OK but scrambled egg could have been fresher. Over all very good.

Amazing!
It was amazing and a good value would usually pay similar price in other hotels and then have to pay extra for wifi, parking and breakfast etc. But here it was all included in the one price.

Lovely receptionist
Sarah from reception was so kind and welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was good and Sarah was also on duty and was so kind and understanding as we were so upset having just lost our mother that day. She is a credit to your company.

Exceeded expectations
On the surface, this is a typical impersonal modern hotel in a good location offering an adequate but not exceptional breakfast. In practice, it was uprated for us by the helpful and friendly staff and the spotless rooms.

Perfect for an overnight stay
Located just off some busy roads, it was quiet at night. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Easy to park, once we understood the road system (lots of one way and dual carriageways) there was a lot around here.

From checking in at reception to departing our experience of Holiday Inn Express Braintree was excellent. Friendly staff, very comfortable rooms, even a notice in the barhroom saying that if you had forgotten certain toiletries you coukd request them. Breakfasr, included in the price was amazing. Only thing we would have liked is a few more plug points. Would highly recommend this hotel.
