The not so sweet suite

The desk clerk went to extra mile to help us check into our musty, run down suite. The bed was good and so was the price but the pool was closed and there was trash and cob webs on our deck. The place needs attention.

Pictures are deceiving

I booked because of pool and it was closed and looked like it had been for quite some time. Offered to fully reimburse if I could find another place within the next hour but had plans and could not take the time. The kitchen was poorly supplied- no cups mugs or glasses. One fork 2 tablespoons and 2 knives. A few pans , 2 plates and 2 bowls. No toaster and the coffee maker was missing pieces. There was only one bar stool to sit on, although there were several outside the office area for employees to take their smoking breaks. One bath towel, had to ask for more and still only got 1 - there were 3 of us. The first day went for breakfast and was informed that the kitchen person had been in an accident, so no breakfast. Subsequent mornings found all the staff eating breakfast with limited left for guests. The floors were sticky, totally disgusting. The unit above us had someone “stamping out a marathon” for hours on end. For the life of me I can’t imagine what they we’re doing. I have stayed at Hawthorne before and always had pleasant experience. This was the worst place I have ever stayed.

Stay at your own risk

The hotel suite was dirty. It looks great on the outside. The pool was closed in August and the phones didnt work so we couldnt call guest services. The employees didnt have communication so they gave a stranger a key to my room and if not for the deadbolt she would have got in. I wont stay there again

I will not be staying here again they had a fire by the pool area still had stuff all over walk way. Nobody wears uniforms so you don’t know who works there. Placed dirty towels outside of room like I was told the girl never picked them up. I placed them back inside room. The room is not well lit. The fan didn’t work. The free breakfast was a joke.

There was no pool eventhough there are pictures on the website of one. The staff was wonderful.

The staff was wonderful and helpful. Unfortunately I had a lot of interaction with them. The air conditioning did not work (but was fixed) and there was no toilet paper (also fixed)

quality room but facility grounds can be better

This Hotel’s grounds are not up kept like they use to be when I stayed at this location years ago. The landscape was not neat and there seem to be strange people hanging around and cutting the through the property due to some type of open fence. I even saw a Pit Bull dog roaming around the property with no owner. The inside of the room was nice and clean and suitable for a family stay and the kitchen can in handy.But their was a fire they night we stayed and we had to exit out room and that was uncomfortable.

Pool non working due to a fire issue. Rooms were not cleaned daily, phone in room did not work, pull out sofa was broken, and air conditioning was non functioning . Instead room had portable air conditioners and a non working fan which would have been an huge issue if we were to have stayed on the ground floor. We were informed the day of check in about the pool but were understanding after seeing the fire damage. Sadly I’ve stayed here before and it was nicer at the time but I’m absolutely sure this is my last time booking with them.

Clerk said she wasn't sure if the pull out sofa would work or not, that its just the luck of the draw. the toilet paper holder was broken, with the roll stuffed on the remaining end. The woodwork in the bathroom was gouged up and filthy, with the trim on the tub pulled out from the tub in the corner by a good 5 inches. The old shower curtain rod bracket was left on the wall after it was replaced by new one. We were told there was bedding for the sofa bed in the closet, but there wasn't, we had to go to the office to get some. I can not believe this was a Wyndham hotel!! ( I have photos but I don't know how to load them.)

Checking in was without issue. Facility was in very poor condition, pool was not open, amenities were not up to standard. The local manager was terrible to deal with and not interested in helping the guests to resolve issues.

The air conditioner in the upstairs window has a part that hangs out the window and the window isn’t sealed so all the cool are was going right out the window causing the upstairs to be so hot! Then there’s so many bugs that kept getting in! The bedroom light kept flickering i called to get it serviced gentleman said he was coming and never came! Then the downstairs was also warm i called service again they stated they we’re going to send the maintenance man down and they never came! There was a rusted pot that was left on the stove with rusty water sitting in it! There was a filthy shirt hanging on the back of the upstairs bathroom door! Also there was some filthy socks that we’re left in the upstairs drawer! Then at 3am we smelled fire so we came out and walked around buildings to see a fire by the pool area so we called 911 and started knocking on doors letting everyone know the evacuate and pulled the fire alarm to also notify others of a fire going on! My daughter wasn’t able to enjoy her 17th Birthday party! Also online it stated this location has a pool and hot tub this was the main reason we booked to get checked in and put on our swim suits to find out these have been closed down! This was a horrible experience not sure how I’m going to make it up to my daughter and all of her friends that we invited and we had to turn around and have them all picked back up a big inconvenience.

the property is a potential winner, with a little tlc. it definitely has maintainence issues. the pool and hot tub were still covered in mid-July and there was no silverware in the kitchen. the tv remote only worked with some functions, then hardly at all. on the plus side, the room was very large and spotlessly clean. overall, a very good value for the money, I would stay there again!

Room was fine. Breakfast could have been better. Ran out of peanut butter and eggs. Steps leading to our room were rough and grass was high. Changed a lot from 8 years ago when I stayed there

NOOOOOOO POOL ...... no pool & nobody told us until we went looking for pool in swimwear and found out it was being work on . A pool a big attraction when you have kids & the sleeper sofa was broke , tile falling out ceiling & broken toilet.I have video of broken bed I can only upload pictures

I feel sorry for the folks who work here because it must be difficult handling situations like ours. We checked in at 10 PM after a long day of travel. My husband, me, our 3 teenage daughters and their friend. Our room was a suite with an upstairs king bed, a downstairs king bed, a sofa sleeper and 2 bathrooms. The room was infested with large black carpenter ants, the door jam was broken, the sofa sleeper was broken, and the air conditioning was broken. So they set out to put us in a different room. The only other suite smelled heavily of smoke - which wasn't acceptable for the four teenage girls - one of which has asthma. So there went two rooms. By now it's nearly 11 PM, because we had unloaded our luggage twice at this point. They ended up splitting us up into 2 rooms - which made me a little uncomfortable being the girls were all between 18 and 15 years old. I made sure their door was locked tight before walking across the courtyard to our room. Finally at about midnight I had the chance to go do laundry. The machines worked fine, but there was no change to be found on site - not even at the front desk. So I sent my husband to get change when I discovered I could install an App on my phone and pay through the app. Even the guy at the front desk didn't know that. I felt bad for sending my husband out at midnight to look for quarters. The food was the usual at the breakfast bar - no surprises or complaints there. But the outdoor pool was also broken down so no swimming!
