The price for what you get is one of the best in Tokyo. I’ve tried other hostels but this one is the easiest by far if you need to get to the airport or anywhere else central Tokyo

It’s Alright...
The elevator is annoying to use just to get from shower to capsule or reception. The capsules are a bit outdated and I definitely didn’t like having to do all the sheets and bedding myself.

Stayed for one night and have no complaints aside from there not being an elevator from the entrance. Thankfully the staff was really kind to help me lug my heavy bag up and down the stairs (there is however an elevator from the lobby).

Comfortable beds, good access to city
The capsule experience was new to me but was pleasantly comfortable and even though the dorm is shared by many people I felt like I had privacy. The general area is nice to sit and relax in and to plan out or review your day's adventures. The hostel is generally well kept. Good value for price.

Had a wonderful stay.
From the standpoint of a businessman like yours truly, this place has been very efficient. It offers everything a comfortable home does i.e. full kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, big living area, internet access, you name it! Also, the price to stay is very reasonable. In addition, the staff make you feel right at home! Most of my interactions were with Eri, an intelligent, educated, well-traveled, fluent English speaker who has provided me with incredible service. Though to be fair, everyone there was excellent. In short, this is easily the best hotel I've been in Japan, possibly the entire world. Definitely recommended.

Capsule hotel style
The capsule hotel style is very cool, it's much more comfortable than casual curtains. The service was good but the reception is on the second floor which is not so convenient for big luggages. They offer help but you know.. The common area is good, good place to meet people. The view from the room and the kitchen was cool, it's like being on a boat.

Hotel location can be quite secluded at night since it's located near offices. Short distance from nearest Metro exit, though, about 7-8mins of walking. Look out for MAX Building and walk towards it, before turning right, past Kantoh and a dental clinic. The location has convenience stores nearby and a few cafes!

Clean hostel, good price.
Good price. Clean hostel, friendly staff. Not the most convenient location for getting to the most popular areas of Tokyo. Lockers are about 3 feet away from from the beds which could be an issue for light sleepers, or if the other guests are inconsiderate

Quiet, pleasant stay at authentic capsule hotel
It's located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It's about a 7 minute walk from a metro stop, so access is fair. It's not close to the action, so it is a nice place to relax after a hectic day in central Tokyo. The building overlooks the river and every floor has a nice river view. The facilities are clean and modern. The staff does a great job of maintaining the property and taking care of their guests. One of the cleanest places I stayed at in Tokyo. Guests should be agile, as there are stairs to trek up to get to reception (2nd floor). However, once inside, there is an elevator.

The condition of the hostel is really great, it is very clean, the view of the hostel is good. However the location of the hostel is not so convenient, need to walk for about 10 mins from station, however the environment of the hostel is good that worth to stay here again.

Very clean, hot showers, and friendly staff. The lobby/kitchen was very well lit and an inviting atmosphere. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes you'd need to cook your own food. They have a real cleaning staff that does an amazing and quick job. Love my experience there!

Clean and comfortable
The capsules are bigger then expected and the bed is very comfortable. You have to make your own bed which I find a little irritating but I guess that keeps the price down. The showers are amongst the best I've experienced in a hostel. Each has its little room where you can put your clothes and towel without them getting wet. The two downsides were the common area and the location. The common area felt a little sterile and wasn't the best for socialising. The location is within walking distance to at least two subway lines which gets you to a lot of the major sites but there's not much going on directly around the hostel with little night life or restaurants. For $27 it was a good stay overall.

Clean and cozy with a nice vibe
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the facility is clean and new. The common area is a little smaller than depicted in the photos, but is comfortable. Almost all important signs/instructions are written in English and Japanese, so I think it's easy for international travelers to stay here. The showers are clean, and hot water comes fast. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided. You can rent a towel, but if you want to save a few coins, just bring your own. Each capsule and locker have hangers, so you can hang and dry your towel.

Only if you want a Capsule Hotel experiencec
I stayed at this hostel because a friend was staying there too. I booked a capsule on the female floor, but upon arrival I was told my capsule collapsed (I think it was due to age). Anyways, I couldn't stay on the female floor so I had to stay on the mixed floor. I typically don't stay in mixed rooms. The mixed floor was a bit too smelly for me, and I did not like how the blinds do not prevent people from seeing inside if you turn on your capsule's light. It was not that comfortable for me. The capsule bedding was a bit uncomfortable and I had trouble putting the bedding inside its cover inside the capsule. The shower area is on the top floor and that was fine. They separate female and male sides and there are many sinks to use. It's also a good place to Skype or chat because there are tables on one side. Unless you have specific directions to the capsule hotel, it is very difficult to find. I didn't look up any directions, and I had to receive help from a kind stranger who took me to the hostel. The closest station is Kagayacho (I think that's how you spell it). My advice is that if you want to experience a capsule hotel, this is fine. But if you prioritize comfortability, a hostel will cost about the same and be better. This hotel has a sister hostel in Ueno that I would recommend!

Great place to stay!
Oak Hostel Cabin was so great! It was comfy, cozy, and the staff were very helpful. The place was immaculately clean, and the beds were incredibly soft. I spent time at the Akihabara district while there, and the Tsukiji fish market, if you're interested in getting up early to go to that, isn't a 30 minute walk away. I only stayed one night, I wish I had stayed more. What a great little place!

worth the money! clean, comfy and convenient
Wonderful hostel to stay in, i was wary of capsules but they are amazingly comfy. Great facilities for cooking, storing, security and washing too. Free toiletries were lovely and everything pretty clean. super close connection to the metro and the hub of tokyo night life etc is only 15 mins away. Wifi fantastic throughout hostel, elevator gets you up the full 5 floors, even umberellas to borrow for a suprise shower! restaurant.guide and metro map provided arrival. Thouroughly enjoyed my stay. Will be coming back here soon!

New, clean and comfy
Oak Hostel Cabin is new, clean and things were in good working condition. The doors to the dorms on every floor have pass code locks, and in the dorm, there are lockers for you to put your belongings, but they are too narrow to fit luggage bags, so everyone just placed their luggage at whatever space there was by the walls. The capsule was quite spacious and didn't make me feel claustrophobic, and there was a blind you can pull down if you need privacy or to block out the lights from other capsules (but it doesn't block out completely). Inside the capsule, there are two hangers on a hook for your clothes, a small shelf, and an in-built alarm clock. The bed and quilt cover were quite comfy. The one thing I had an issue about the dorm though, is the toilet - it was so dimly-lit, you can barely see what you're doing in the cubicle. The hostel is about 10 minutes walk from Kayabacho metro station. I tried walking back to the hostel from Suitengumae metro station at around 8pm but the paths were not well-lit, so I wouldn't recommend that route for solo female travelers. The hostel is near a river but I found the entire area very gray and there was nothing scenic about it. The hostel's reception staff could speak English quite well and their service was alright, except for a guy who wasn't too knowledgeable about the bus service information pasted on their counter and gave me unsure replies. Overall, still a pleasant capsule hotel experience for me.

Capsule Hotel
The main catch of this Hostel is the use of Capsules, instead of bunks. The hostel staff were friendly and the amenities were clean. The location is a little far from a subway station, and can be a bit hard to find for those who do not have WiFi/GPS.

Clean and comfortable capsule experience
I was recently traveling through Japan, and wanted to try to stick to a budget. Given that most Tokyo hotels were so expensive, and paired with the desire to experience staying at a 'capsule hotel,' I found Oak Hostel Cabin. I stayed for 4-nights at the front end of my trip and another 2 at the end of my trip. While many say you only need one night to experience the capsule, I felt like this was the perfect option for most of my stay. Seeing as I wasn't spending much time in the hostel or the room at all, the lack of space didn't bother me. Plus, the hostel offered great public spaces. The kitchen and bathrooms were immaculate, laundry facilities were available, and the staff was so patient to answer all of my sightseeing (and transportation) questions. This property is situated in the financial district, but for me it was central enough to see the sights and only a 10-minute walk from the closest train station. I highly recommend this hostel if you're looking for a clean and comfortable capsule experience. (Bring earplugs and an eye mask, as you will be sharing the floor with many others and the capsules aren't sound proof).

Great one-night stay in Tokyo!
I stayed at Oak Hostel Cabin for one night during a layover on a business trip that took me through Tokyo. It's located conveniently between two metro stations and a major bus station that departs quite regularly to the Haneda and Narita airports (a 7 minute walk from the hostel). The staff was very helpful when I arrived late and had many questions during my short layover (I wanted to see Tokyo!). My bed was very comfortable (I stayed on the all-female floor). I'm 5'4" and slept comfortably. I think someone that was taller than myself, even over 6 feet, would sleep comfortably as well. The facilities were clean and the whole place has a very relaxed and accommodating feel. I would definitely stay here again in the future if I planned a visit to Tokyo.

A capsule hotel with Sumida River view
I've always wanted to stay at a capsule hotel, and Oak Hostel Cabin turned out to be a perfect place for me. Unlike how it sounds, capsule room was actually bigger than I thought. I am 5'9" but I still had room when I laid down and when I sat. The capsule also had an A/C so it wasn't stuffy at all. The shower room was also clean with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. With regards to location, it takes about 10 minutes to Kayabacho station. It sounds far, but I thought it was walkable and it was also safe. I guess the best part about this hostel was that it had a beautiful view of the Sumida River. So make sure to tell the staff that you want the capsule room facing the river when checking-in.
