By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. Third, there is stains everywhere on the carpet with a foul odor. Fourth, we paid for a non-smoking room. It couldn’t have been more obvious that the previous renters smoked in it. To set expectations right, my four-star rating is based on how well the property owners provided a three-star level of service. I think they did it pretty well. The only thing that I didn't like at all was the non-transparent window with armored glass. I have never seen such a thing. Maybe it is due to some Japanese law. Everything else is fine (again, this is just a three-star hotel), but with some "features," so be prepared: - Second-floor reception. You enter the building and find yourself in a tiny hall with a lift, no signs, nothing. Go to the 2nd floor. == Side note: They close the doors from midnight to 6 a.m. (if I recall correctly), so if you arrive late, call the hotel in advance to find out how to deal with this. - Check-in kiosk. Be prepared to go through a process of "enter this and press that" before it gives you a key. == Side note: They have a money-changing machine, but the rate is terrible. - Only one key per room, but you will find a key duplicator on the floor (1,000 Yen per duplicate). - Checkout kiosk - insert the key, and you are done. - Checkout at 10 a.m., but they provide a free storage service. - The room is not small; it is TINY. But it's well-organized.
