Close to Boone, West Jefferson, Todd and the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can hike or take a walk with your dog directly from the front door. The cabin is tastefully decorated in warm mountain decor. The main living area includes a stone gas fireplace for cozying on those cool Carolina Mountain evenings, and a dining/kitchen combo fully equipped with everything you need to prepare that special meal for your significant other. A bedroom with comfy new king sized log bed and a bath are also on this level. Upstairs is another bedroom with king bed and bath along with a loft area that offers a king sleeper sofa for extra sleeping. With central heat and air conditioning there's no need to worry about the weather. Out back, you're sure to enjoy the screened in porch with hot tub and seating area for reading. This creekfront retreat is like being in your own little state park. If a peaceful, quiet and beautiful setting is what you are looking for, this cabin is your best choice. Allows small pets and provides a wonderful, fenced area for children and pets. Note: Pets allowed with a $75 per stay per pet. Airbnb/VRBO will only automatically charge one pet. Great location to explore from. Only wish I could have watched my Braves both days but one is better than none and the peaceful location made it insignificant. Saw deer all over the place including on the road in front of the cabin, a baby fawn and it’s mother. Check out the food and service at CRAFT BISTRO. We went twice and the local farmers markets had a great variety of produce and crafts, including meat. We are definitely coming back. ##### Ben S. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is charming,was very clean and the upstairs bedroom was as expected from the pictures. Have to say that the pictures of the downstairs were a little misleading and that area is tight. Fine for the 2 of us, but be aware that 4 adults may feel crowded. There are also a number of other rental close by. Outdoor fire pit was very nice and location is an easy distance to Boone or West Jefferson ##### Michael C. Reviewer Comments: After staying here several times in the past and having an excellent experience- this time was not nearly as good. Overall property was not clean at all and included cobwebs everywhere and unclean toilets. Many of the amenities such as glasses and bowls were either cracked or just not there. It's not all the bells and whistles but it was exactly what we were looking for. Set in the woods, quiet, serene, near a creek. Hot tub and tons of wildlife to see and enjoy(a family of 5 deer approached as we were on the porch) Off the beaten path. Well set up, layout was great and bed was comfortable. It was easy to get to as well and we loved how cozy it was. Nice porch to enjoy coffee on and a true "old school" feel. It was perfect for our couples getaway. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a very nice long weekend. The cabin was cozy. Only a few recommendations: Need more bowls(4), wine glasses(3), and plates(4). Need a trash can upstairs. Dryer sounds horrible but seemed to work on. Dishwasher only functions on 1-2 settings. Radio would turn itself on mid day(maybe a timer issue but we couldn't figure out how to change it). Customers need to be encouraged to use their own service for music, as no radio stations come in clearly. We visited a month after the hurricane and there was a tree still leaning in the back yard. Would suggest a good leaf blowing prior to renters coming in so pathways are clearer to see, lots of fall risks. Upstairs is very nice. Downstairs is very small and tight but manageable. The kids especially enjoyed sleeping in the loft with the rain drumming on the tin roof.
