I liked that it was walking distance to the beach and airport. I disliked that the pool closed at 6pm. I disliked that there was a towel and no washcloth I disliked that the was a coffee machine, with no filter and didn't work I disliked that there was a frying pan that was broken so you couldn't really use it. I disliked that the matches given to use to light the stove broke apart the minute you struck it against the box. I disliked that there was no microwave and they wanted to charge you

NEVER AGAIN
When we arrived at the hotel it was like they weren’t expecting the second half of our party (4 of us. 2 rooms reserved on the same booking). When that was finally settled and it was time to sleep it was a zoo. Room one had banging or something happening on the ceiling as if someone was fighting. Sounded like it was going to come through the ceiling at one point. Room two had water rushing from somewhere all night like a waterfall. I’m sorry but even if I was offered to come back for free I would NEVER!!! Only positive was the boys had a good time at the pool.

We are concerned if our guests are uncomfortable, so we checked and found that there is a stray cat that walks on the roof and we have taken measures to deal with that. We have been unable to identify a source of rushing water, but we continue to monitor the area. Reporting to us while you are still with us is a big help in assisting to resolve these problems.

It is situated within walking distance of the airport, a safe beach, shops and restaurants in literally five minutes. It is a quaint old facility but really excellent as it is all on one level. If you don’t like climbing stairs or injured with a walking impediment , it caters to these needs. My one night was well spent.

I really like the proxity to the airport. The rooms look beautiful on website. The staff was warm and friendly. The property needs some upgrading. The price per night needs to at least include some breakfast. Getting into the bathroom is a challenge for senior citizen - you have a high step up to get into the tub to take a shower; no handrails. There is a step down to get into the room. You must be physically able to walk and get in and out of the room not wheelchair accessible.

A brief stay at Golden Thistle
Was perfect for me as I was looking for a good no frills room in walking distance to airport, beach, and restaurants. The pool was a notable extra. First day had some mosquitoes (rainy season had just started) but a good spray dealt with that. All in all worth the price for a 4 night stay.

The location was great - an easy walk to beach food and airport Owners were extremely helpful to us. All rooms had kitchenette and covered patio with table and chairs. Older hotel but comfortable. I enjoyed having a pool . I would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends

The staff was excellent, friendly, and prompt. The facility is in need of updating, the room needs updated refrigerator, fixtures, bathroom.. need a microwave.

Good friendly
Great clean pool. Checked us in early. Gokd breakfast. Arranged a car for us cheaper than we could get elsewhere and gave us directions around the island. Real friendly staff. The property is on the old side, clean and friendly. For the money it is excellant value. 5 min Walk from the airport. Closeto the bars and a 30min walk from pigeon point. Would reccomend it . We stayed for 6 nights.

Arrived at 8pm, room was still not ready. Hotel needs upgrading. Only stay if it's a last resort. Clean rooms, but very outdated. Uncomfortable beds.

Great location, great value
Spent two nights at the Golden Thistle. Great location to crown point and the airport. Room was clean and staff we're friendly. Within a short distance to pigeon point, but in a little quiter neighbood which is what we were looking for. Used it as a starting point before travelling the rest of the island.

Located walking distance from the airport, store bay beach and amenities. Rooms and furniture dated, cut clean and tidy with kitchenette. Perfect if traveling on a budget and standard not too high. Good for price

Got lost. No sign on the main road.
The room was nice,but small and had no microwave, so if you have to stay more than 1 night you would have to eat what you cook cause you cannot reheat next day. The price was too high for the small room. I have stay in studio apartment in Tobago and paid less.

Tobago is a great island
i stayed for 6 days, it was a simple hotel, no frills, but good value for the price. Great location on old store bay road, 15 minute walk to most things in Crown Point area, very close to airport.

We spent 7 nights, clearly the place is in need of some upgrading but considering the price the stay was like staying at your old grandmother's house. It was a lot quieter than i expected and the staff was very very friendly. Even the owner was chatty and relaxed with you.We arrived 4 hours after our checking in time and had no problem, Michael was quick and helpful. Considering how hot outside was the place was very cool even if you turned off the AC for a while. Also the pleasure of watching not only the little birds but the cocrico walking around the garden areas and in the lot next door was priceless. I did have the crab and dumpling and it was quite good, sweeter than I was used to but very tasty and plentiful.I do think the hotel could benefit from some room re-organization, the television is on the wrong end to look at properly if you are on the bed and hanging the bathroom door to open on the outside. Also because so many people now drive such large vehicles, the concrete planters can go on the outer wall for decor as opposed to where they are now. It would certainly make parking a lot easier when the hotel is full. Proximity to so many bars and restaurants mean that the hotel's restaurant is very underutilized and could even be eliminated in re-organizing.

AFFORDABLE, CONVENIENT, BUT RENOVATION NEEDED
I needed a budget hotel for my visit to Tobago, and boy, did I get that. The facility is very old, the bathroom was tiny with barely enough room for one person to turn around. The "kitchenette" consisted of an old mini-fridge, some kitchen utensils that looked very questionable, and a propane stove with a long list of directions for it's use. REALLY! Linen was changed on a schedule....The bed linens were very dingy and well worn. The location is very convenient to the airport, Store Bay Beach, and the main road. The staff was courteous; the grounds were okay. The pool was closed several days during my visit.

Lovely family run hotel, close to airport, beach, restaurants, bars (all within 10 mins walk). Michael the owner/receptionist/bar tender is a delightful gentleman, he made our stay a very pleasant one! Friendly staff, very accomodating

Soooooo much potential
Wow.. This place has ALL the potential but obvious seems to be runner by a cheap person. Have you ever seen ice melt in a working freeze OR have to go to the reception are to use what seems to be the only microwave available? First time I ever witnessed that. Spiders an other insects in the room. You don't always see them but you definitely feel them.utensils were provided in the kitchenette but there was a sign stating that dishwashing liquid would not be provided an the maid would not wash the dishes.. I have no problem with doing my own dishes but be practical an provided dishwashing liquid. The bathroom was OK for what it was. The owner is obviously eco friendly which is seen by his notes about the water usage. I have no problem with that. Apparently any place that has plastic chairs an some tables can be called a restaurant. I was not fond of the breakfast but I would say the woman who provided it was a delight. Overall the people who work there are very pleasant but unfortunately nice people can't make up for hard beds, insects, dusty room or a nonsense kitchenette. Guess that's what I paid for an would not pay again. I never visited the pool so I can't comment there. The located in perfect proximity to the beach,food an nightlife. No complaints there.

I did not enjoy this stay the best part of it was the bathroom very clean. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable when u lay on the bed u feel the hard board of the bed in your back it was really difficult to sleep on.

This is a small hotel on a dirt road in Tobago, not far from the airport. A very modest family hotel. Clean and neat, modest, friendly, quiet. The rooms have kitchenettes.

The hotel facilities are run down and requires some upgrading. The beds are not comfortable and general atmosphere of the room is not very friendly. The cable kept dropping. For the price, it is not worth it.

Don't call it hotel, call it apartment.
The location of the accommodation is the last building, about 200m from the runway of the international airport of Tobago. Build in the 70th, i guess, is the facility not good maintenanced. All furniture in the room are in poor ondition. The hinges of the fridge where replaced by cupboard hinges and a hook for a padlock kept it close. I got an electrical shock when i touched the fridge once. No toilet brush was provided. The mattress was supported by plywood and hard. 2 worn out seats where available. the oven and the tv was working well. The shower needs about 5 to 10 min. to let warm water dripping. the AC was very loud but working. the pool is in bad condition and not in use. Breakfast was ok. By check in, i was asked to pay in advance.

Enkelt hotell med en mycket trevlig ägare.
Anlände tidigt, och fick checka in före utsatt tid. Ägaren var vänlig att skjutsa mig till stranden Pigeon point och hämta mig igen senare. På vägen fick jag en liten guidning i Crown Point. Till frukosten hade vi ett intressant samtal om Tobagos historia och framtid. En mycket givande vistelse utöver själva rummet alltså!

Hotelli oli hyvä perushotelli. Hotellin omisti vanhempi pariskunta ja he olivat todella ystävällisiä ja auttavaisia. Pariskunta myös osasi neuvoa kaikissa kysymyksissä. Hotelli oli todella lähellä lentokenttää. Hotellin läheltä löytyi myös kaikki tarpeelliset palvelut ja esim. Pyörävuokraamo oli vain parin minuutin kävelyn päässä. Hotellilla olisi ollut parempia ja uudempia huoneita, mitä meillä oli. Koska tarvitsimme erillissängyt, meidät majoitettiin vähän vanhempiin huoneisiin.
