"This place is truly a step back in time! Well maintained and clean, with friendly and accommodating staff, it was a very positive experience. Built in the 50’s I believe, it has all the original charm. Rooms are small but adequate, and I was provided with everything I needed to make sure my stay was comfortable. If you are looking for luxurious, this isn’t it,, but it is definitely clean and comfortable, and reasonably priced."

"It was amazing and everything we needed right at hand. Would definitely rent again at this property. We all were very comfortable pups and kiddo included. My Son,"loved his vacation house!" The dogs acted they lived there previously.We could have used a few more washcloths but that wasn't a huge deal. Everything was perfect and I am already looking to rent for the next vacation. I was even going to extend to my time, however our proerty had people arriving so we just decided to pack and leave."

"Beautiful home on Lake Huron with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay. Great location just minutes from downtown Alpena. Super responsive hosts. Kitchen was very well equipped and loved the outdoor grill. Beds super comfortable. Living room was great -- spent hours there relaxing and watching the lake. Downstairs bed/bath/kitchenette worked out great for us. Neighborhood is lovely and quiet. Overall, a great house and wonderful hosts."

"The house was absolutely stunning, clean and fresh. Everything you need to cook a meal was available and the kids loved having their own rooms! Beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day. The location is also great, close to stores if you need anything and so many cool things to go do! I recommend the lighthouses and the dinosaur gardens!"

"Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The house was spacious and quite comfortable (although I wish it had a coffee table!). The beach toys were a huge hit with our kids, the walking distance to a splash pad and playground was a pleasant surprise. It's located right on the main road, so quick & easy access to everywhere we wanted to go.The listing failed to mention that there is a massive industrial complex (one of North America's largest cement-producing facilities, as it turns out!) just a few hundred yards down the beach. Having that constantly in the background really took away from the peaceful and picturesque beach vacation I was expecting. The house also has a musty smell, which made me wonder about mold/mildew. I wish a few more details in the house had been more closely tended to - the grill had no propane, the shower curtain should've been replaced a long time ago, we found the dryer stuffed with wet towels.Jennie was very responsive to messages but I didn't want to spend my vacation managing requests so we just focused on the positives during our stay."
