Cove cottage was both a warm landing pad and a destination in itself. The views out of every window were beautiful, and the cove was a quiet and magical place. We were able to explore the coast, visiting Monhegan Island, and Acadia National Park. We drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain for the sunrise and got engaged! The hospitality from the hosts, the location, and the location are all 5/5\. Were Maine natives. If youre visiting the state or born and raised here this is plane to have the full experience. There are many cute towns surrounding Tenant Harbor. The cabin was clean and cozy. We had a problem with the electrical system in the master bedroom (the breaker box just needed to be flipped) and the property owner was quick to help. Such a nice lady. We rented sea kayaks and had THE MOST amazing time paddling all around Long Cove! While out on the water, we spotted herons, seals, terns, cormorants, and bald eagles—unforgettable moments that will stay with us a lifetime. Vanessa and Paul were kind, communicative, and incredibly gracious hosts. For example, when my daughter and I each accidentally broke a drinking tumbler while doing dishes, Vanessa was completely understanding.The cabin reminded me of my family’s old cottage on Lake Michigan built by my great grandparents—rustic, but with all the essential comforts. The Wi-Fi, AC, and hot water all worked perfectly. The privacy and connection to nature here are absolutely unbeatable.We enjoyed cooking in and dining out. Highlights included tree-top and cloud gazing the hammock, spotting numerous shorebirds, smelling the ocean breezes, listening to the sounds of wind and songbirds, practicing morning meditations on the big rock overlooking the cove, building a fairy house from natural objects, playing Scrabble (we brought our own board), and eating s’mores by the fire. Our dogs loved Drift Inn Beach and peaceful walks along the cottage road. And we had one heaven-sent sunset that truly lit our hearts up. This place was magical, healing, and restorative—just what we needed. The cottage is nestled in a private and quiet cove that provides amazing views of wildlife, trees, lobster boats and even Clark Island. My dog and I did our daily meditation on the rocks overlooking the cove every morning. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you could need. Vanessa, the owner, was in contact on our first day to make sure that we were having a pleasant stay and answered any questions that I had. The cottage was decorated to reflect the true essence of Maine. The location is near numerous great restaurants, although we did cook a lobster dinner at the cottage one night since they have a very large lobster pot to use.
