"Very clean and well presented. Excellent facilities. Whilst I give the Rural Retreat 5*'s I'd give myself less as I missed that the room was not ensuite and that breakfast (which was very good btw) was not included. I will look more closely next time. Whilst St Finans is close to interesting places, there is not much in the village itself. Wifi was not great, but that is a problem for the area rather than for any specific property."

"Very nice cabin in the country and the hot tub was amazing. We did a lot of cooking in the cabin. Very beautiful and the owner was super nice and friendly. When we come back to Scotland we will definitely stay here again. "

We had a gorgeous room overlooking the golf course with a beautiful sunny aspect and french window with a balcony rail. We also used the spa and had a FABULOUS massage which was so indulgent. We made great use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room which were wonderful too. "Great people, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the shower was terrible. Being a mix of hotel amd Indian restaurant our room constantly smelt of the food which was not good. If they had better extraction from the kitchen this may not have been the case. When leaving there was no key drop box so spent a while trying to find a safe space to leave key. Good one night stay hotel in my opinion. "

An unexpected affordable indulgent treat
"I think we got a great deal because there was renovations going on but that didn't disrupt us in any way. We had a gorgeous room overlooking the golf course with a beautiful sunny aspect and french window with a balcony rail. We also used the spa and had a FABULOUS massage which was so indulgent. We made great use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room which were wonderful too. The only minor irritation was the phone in our room didn't work but we just phonedreception from our mobile and the wedding guests were quite exuberantly noisy returning to their rooms opposite in the small hours after the function, but that can happen anywhere. Overall we feel really lucky to have had such an affordable lovely stay in an iconic olace"
