Room was ok except coffeemaker didn't work, shower door was off and wouldn't close. Pool had issues everyone had red eyes and skin irritations. From what we were told by other people after swimming is that they had complained the night before (Friday) and we didn't swim until Saturday evening. After we complained they said they closed the pool. Lots of issues with the kids and their eyes I'm glad we didn't have to play softball on Sunday because several of the kids wouldn't have been able to play.

Thank you for your review Also our pool is Salt pool we don't use any chemicals in that. All kids were in the pool for hours.
Quiet and peaceful, very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Arrived around 7:30 PM with a hungry teenage boy; staff directed us to a Buffalo Wild Wings just out the back door. We walked over, got our order and back to our room in just a few minutes, and the food was fresh, hot and good.

This hotel proved to be the perfect stay for our geneology quest in the area. We were very comfortable and were located right on the main roads. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good breakfast every morning and cookies for the afternoon return. There is a nice fitness room and a great indoor pool. We were there one week and will stay again when we return.

When we showed up we were told pets were not allowed. Even when you googled it clearly state they are. We stayed at three Holiday inn Express & Suites with no issues. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed. :@(

Had an interesting stay here. Had to switch rooms three times after staff assigned us first a room already occupied then second a room that was not what I booked. After that, the third was still not exactly what I booked. But the breakfast was good and the room was clean, so that’s good.

When most hotels say they provide breakfast, it's a stretch. Our free breakfast included fried eggs, sausage links, sausage gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, various types of pastries, various types of yogurt, various types of cereal, and lots of fruit choices. It was all very good. Thank you!

The staff was friendly and responsive. Got room service every day with fresh towels, but some days the bed wasn't made. Our room had been redone within the last couple years, but the caulking between the tub and the floor was badly cracked and in need of maintenance. After we checked in and went up to our room, I found the desk chair back was broken so it would only lay flat, but after I took it to the front desk, they apologized and replaced it very quickly. The toilet handle lever broke off inside the tank during our stay, but they fixed it that same day while we were out and about. The location is near a freeway interchange , but we didn't find the noise level objectionable. Breakfast was OK, but didn't offer a lot of low carb/low sugar alternatives other than eggs and sausage.

It has been many years since the first time we stayed there and Holiday Inn Express was always one of the better franchises to stay at. We were shocked at the dirty smell when we walked in and the weak floors (we were on the 2nd floor) of the hallway as if they are rotting under the nasty dirty carpet. It is evident that they do not deep clean anything. Even the nightstand had spill stains from previous guests that had not been wiped up.
They provided a coffee pot and coffee but no water. What water are you supposed to use? The toilet water? Then the girl at the front desk says “we quit putting water in the rooms and now put it over there “ as she points to an empty box. REALLY???
Then to top everything off, we were charged $10 against the card they REQUIRED us to hand over for “incidentals”. I specifically asked as I checked out “any incidentals?”. “No” she replied. So we didn’t have any incidentals unless they charge for extra pillows which were left in the room. So what’s that $10 charge for?
I’ve been trying to call that hotel for an explanation of that $10.00 charge but to no avail. I go on hold but no one ever answers the phone so the phone eventually disconnects.
So there you have it. $180.00 ($190 if you include that extra $10 mystery charge) for a one night stay at a hotel that is now at best 2 stars.

We apologize for your inconvenience faced during your stay. The hotel has not charged you anything because your reservation was PREPAID DEPOSIT from Expedia.com. We did took 10.00 for Incidentals and that automatically drops off at check out. you have to contact Expedia for your charges. No hotel provides water for coffee. we give complimentary water to all our guests free of charge and also we didn't charge you for extra pillows. Thank you again for your review. We just spent three nights at the HIE in Laurel, MS; nicest and most accommodating ladies at the front desk! They were super! The breakfast area was clean and organized - they need to ditch the “pancake machine” and replace it with a waffle maker. The pancakes were pitiful - as thin as a sheet of paper and hardly cooked…waffle makers leave the diner with a crisp waffle!! I appreciated having sugar free syrup and jelly - they need to include some healthy sweetener for coffee…Stevia and Sweet and Low are great alternatives to very unhealthy Equal. The property looks old and as if nothing much has been done to it. In particular the elevators (only one of which worked most of our stay) were filthy. The bathroom in our room was terrible. The toilet had not been cleaned in awhile - you could see the black mold and mildew under the rim from the door. The walk in shower desperately needs a safety rail…floor was so slick it was scary to step in and out with nothing to hold onto. The reason was easy to figure out - the design captured soap, shampoo and conditioner in low spots and not having a handheld shower head made it impossible to wash it down the drain. I took a damp paper towel upon arrival and mopped up some water I spilled on the floor- the towel was black with dirt. After two days of not having garbage emptied nor fresh towels, we asked the front desk - still no service. On the 3rd day we finally got trash emptied and towels after a 2nd trip to the desk.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, caring, and professional. My door stuck, I had to lift the door to lock the inside lock. The restroom wasn’t clean. Overall I would stay again but definitely not request the room I had the last time.

This is a low grade Holiday In n Express. The furnishings was outdated and the pool was a kiddie pool. It looked very cloudy which means dirty or not filtered very well.
The daily price was 175.00 which is way over priced for the area. Small town.
The pictures are deceiving online.
I should have stayed at the Hampton INN but they are over priced too for the area.
I will not be staying in Laurel, MS for that price in the future.

The hotel was lovely, and it was clean. I was not fond of the room because it was so dark. Lamps barely lit the room after dark. For that reason, I might not want to stay again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
