The kitchen was well appointed and we found everything we needed at the house for our stay. The fridge and cupboards were stocked with some of the owners items which while we understood them to be available for our use still felt a little awkward. However we still had plenty of space so it was really a non-issue. The house has a nice backyard with a fire pit and chairs for a group. Across the street is a family run drive-in that serves up a nice menu; just a short walk down the street is a coffee shop. Easy walking distance to the nearby state park and the St. Croix river. Mini golf, coffee shops and a nice cafe is within walking distance. We spent the evenings around the fire pit and had a lot of fun. Homeowner (or someone) lives at the property when it’s not rented as we found the fridge was stocked with their food, etc, so you had to manage around that. We were in Taylor Falls for our best friends wedding. We have little kiddos so wanted to be comfortable for the weekend. We got just that at this property! It was perfect for our family and perfect place for the bride to get ready. The "rehersal" dinner was just across the street at the Drive In (delicious food BTW), and the wedding was just a few blocks down at Interstate State Park. Perfect weekend. We stayed local in MN, instead of a National Park, but got much more bang for the buck, right here! A++ retreat. It’s rustic + cozy, and centered in a hopping, bustling town to “people watch”while toasting marshmallows! It’s hard to describe, but it’s both trendy urban AND rural Nature, at once.
