Perfect place to stay, brilliantly located and really love, helpful staff! Very nice to have a pool to dip your feet in at the end of a day pounding the pavements but it was full of dead flies and cat poo so didn't fancy swimming in it! The Art Hostel was lovely, clean, and welcoming. I loved the style of both the courtyard and the hostel itself. Their bulletin board and staff are a font of information about traveling in Uzbekistan and are a terrific resource as is the email they send prior to arrival describing how to get to the hostel from the airport or train station. That was a lovely touch. The staff make a great buffet breakfast each morning with breads, cheeses, oatmeal, sausages, fruit, vegetables, coffee, tea, ... The staff is also very helpful, and all speak English. Though, their level of proficiency varies. The hostel is close to a number of restaurants, the Metro, a grocery store, and a UCell office for getting that all important SIM card, and the bulletin board has information about all of these and much more.
