Behind the house there is plenty of snorkeling and water activities for your enjoyment. Load up the kayaks and paddleboards and go on an adventure. Wildlife is everywhere all day but the best times are Daybreak or sunset for sightings of Dolphins. Half Sound-when you exit the property, take a left, at the fork in the road stay to the right, at the next fork go left, and follow the road until it ends. This area has a lazy river, teeming wildlife(turtles, dolphins, sting rays, conchs, etc. Great to walk and explore or take the kayaks or paddle boards. We had the beach to ourselves as turtles and stingrays swam in the water around our feet, and the warm trade winds flowed through buildings with large, sliding doors. Multiple refrigerators were available for beverage storage, and the large deck was a perfect playground for our 2-yr-old grandson. The property was clean and the manager was extremely helpful with any questions we had. We've been to a lot of ocean-side properties, but this one was one of the best we've seen! The storm created lots of wind and seaweed along the shore in front of the property. Although his workers tried to clean up the beach it was impossible to stop the seaweed from covering the beach. This is a relatively new home that includes a 4 bedroom guest house so a great amount of space for all ages. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and all the living areas perfect for those late afternoons before dinner. Outside space is incredible with a huge deck, picnic tables, lounges, chairs, covered area, kayaks, paddle boards, water trampoline, and water toys. There is a large bar/grill area with outdoor tv as well. We rented the large Suburban which the owner had left for us at the airport and was perfect for 7 of us and all our luggage. Winding Bay is the perfect spot if you want to spear lobster and/or fish as it is on the ocean side but protected from the Atlantic. We had lobster ever. single. night. Please note the season opens there on August 1st. This home was just great for our family with ages 6 - 75\. The host, Chris, is outstanding and will communicate immediately if asked a question or have a concern. We would do a repeat visit to this compound. As our six year old said, "let's go home for two days and then come back." I agree. Thank you, Chris.
