Very welcoming. Spacious and very clean room. Cold water and fresh milk in fridge on landing. Pub had a good atmosphere. My only whinge is I think breakfast should be included not an extra. Would definitely stay here again.

Friendly, Immaculate, Perfect for Oulton
Brilliantly friendly village local pub with clean rooms and great food. Super warm welcome from the couple who run it, and a less than 10 min walk to Oulton Park. The room decor is a little dated, but it is exceptionally clean and has everything you need. I’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic!
5* welcome, friendly staff, lovely thick towels to lose yourself in after a hot shower, comfy beds and a fantastic breakfast to clear the cobwebs the next day.

One night stay
The new owners are very friendly as are the staff. Our evening meal was excellent. I had the gammon and asked if I could have mash instead of chips which I got and it was beautiful. Hubby had chicken salad and it was also excellent. We really enjoyed our one night stay.

Hi sorry for the confusion, the room rate was listed as Room Only. Due to you arriving very late in the evening after the kitchen had closed. Breakfast could not then be arranged. We are a small country pub with just 4 rooms and do not have night porters or staff available on the off chance that someone "might" order breakfast. Had you rang to inform us that you required a late check in, we would at that point asked if you required breakfast and arranged staff accordingly. Once again sorry for the confusion.

The excellent Red Lion lnn
Spotlessly clean and spacious room. Helpful and friendly staff and management. Lovely setting in quiet picturesque village between Northwich and Chester, perfect for sightseeing. Excellent breakfast. Cosy quiet country pub which l would recommend and will stay again when l next visit the area.

Nice staff. Rooms and infrastructure very tired. Real issue is room smelt of vomit. One bed in particular appeared to be the source of the issue which became unbearable once covers were taken back. How could they not notice? Evening food good portions but basic. Breakfast ok, but tea & coffee not to standard. At £140/ night could do better.

So sorry you were not happy with your stay. As we did discuss the fact that you could smell something and we couldn't we investigated further and when we removed the glasses of milk that you son had left by the bed we came to the conclusion that maybe the milk may have gone off in the night. As for Tea and Coffee I am not to sure what you mean, the coffee is filter coffee and the tea is tetleys. Once again sorry you were not happy with your stay.
