Good hotel in not so nice part of the city
Fabio at the front desk was so full of information on what to do and where to eat. Very nice hotel with parking, easy to reach, nice big room. The old part of Taranto is sad to see but not dangerous, the sea is just there so still nice. The new part of the city, the lungomare and the museum are 10-15 minutes walk away. Lots of seafood restos nearby. The museum is fantastic!

Wonderful location. The staff was very accomodating and helpful, great service Our room was amazing with views of the waterfront we had a terrace where we had breakfast brought to us every morning. The breakfast was very good and many options available to choose from.

A very nice experience
The location is on the port bordering the old city. 15 minutes walk from the unique MArTA museum and the Castle. Non touristic immediate neighborhood but close to a very nice walk alongside the port. The room was small but well equipped. The bonus was a very beautiful veranda overlooking the port, where we enjoined a very good private breakfast (corona has some advantages… private instead of buffet breakfast). Very good service. Pablo was so helpful with everything we are thankful

The people, and staff were fantastically nice and extremely helpful. The breakfast was fine. The hotel rooms are incredibly small, the wi fi would not work more than it worked. The old town where it is located is run down. If I came back I would stsy in the new town and visit the sites from there. The museum is phenomenal

As far as the room you have chosen is concerned, it has the standard dimensions foreseen by Italian hotel regulations and falls within the basic typology, which can be seen faithfully photographed on the Hotel website. The rooms at Boutique Hotel L'Arcangelo are all different and there are also very large rooms and rooms with a private furnished terrace, and rooms with a terrace and a sea view, which always have advantageous prices, so I suggest that the next time you book you check which type you prefer, so that you can see your needs fully met. I am sorry that you arrived late and were unable to see the many historical wonders in the old town, such as the Baroque Cathedral of San Cataldo, the various Hypogea, the Diocesan Museum, the ancient Cloister of Santa Chiara, the remains of the Temple of Poseidon, the Spartan Museum and much more.If you had seen them, you would certainly have had a different view of the old town, and you would have been able to appreciate it, just as so many guests, before you, have appreciated it. The old town is one of the rare authentic places that has not yet been transformed by mass tourism, and is now the subject of a great and amazing global redevelopment project, which has already begun, similar to the project that affected Matera a few years ago. The hote lstaff was very accommodating and friendly. They recommend a very good restaurant around the corner and upgraded our room. The are it is in , is abit run down. But the hotel is very good. Breakfast was delicious

It was a one night stay, was very nervous when pulling up to the hotel as the area looked sketchy at night in a rainstorm. We were told that the island is in the middle of the 90 million dollar renovation for the whole island of old town. We had a good sleep, they just need softer or fluffier pillows as they hard and flat. Great service, good bed and good breakfast with amazing chocolate croissants!

Super friendly and supportive staff. We bought a bottle of wine to drink at their rooftop terrace. The front desk staff brought out a tray with 2 wine glasses and a bottle opener for us to use. Saw a beer bottle too. Offered two beer glasses too, which we declined. Taranto is an unique ancient city which is NOT touristy. Come and enjoy this charming hotel and its excellent staff!

Beautifully restored hotel in the upcoming historic district. Best part is that it is easy to park the car for free next to the hotel or in the area close to the hotel. Walking distance to the historic areas of the city, new or old, or to the best museum, great castle and to restaurants. The breakfast was very nice, for dinner there is a nice restaurant on the waterside right next to the hotel. Taranto is beautifully historic with one of the most amazing Museums and free Castle tours !!

Lovely conversion in old Taranto on a small square. run down and poor area of the city only just seeing an upturn in its fortunes. Rooms or doors not properly insulated so can hear other guests and traffic noise. Ideal for the Duomo which is spectacular but a fair walk into the new town for shopping and most of the bars and restaurants. Special credit to Selena on reception who could not have been more helpful and charming!

Superb hotel would stay again
Fantastic hotel in excellent condition. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice. The area is up and coming but convenient for the town. We really enjoyed our stay.

When we got to this hotel, they informed us the room was unavailable due to a plumbing problem. They arranged for us to stay at another hotel which was adequate but disappointing. The gentleman who attended to us when we arrived was helpful and tried his best to explain the situation. We were just so disappointed not to be able to experience this hotel.

Beautifully Elegant, Quaint & Unique in Taranto
We were a bit nervous reserving a hotel over the web in an area with which I had little experience, but our stay at Hotel Arcangelo was fantastic! Just by points to cover the basics: The hotel is literally 5 minutes via taxi from Taranto's central train station, or 10 Euros. If you're back packing, it's about 1 kilometer straight across the bridge from the train station. It's not an easy hotel to see as it's nestled back from a short piazza, but you can find it readily enough. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Katia by day and Antonio for the night shift. They were friendly to a fault, courteous and simply sincere and warm. Katia speaks basic English while Antonio speaks English very well. The breakfast in the morning is Italian, continental, and with every cup of coffee made to order by (at least for us) Antonio. The room we had was lovely, with vaulted ceilings, a very nice new bathroom within with the shower gave a wonderfully strong flow of water. Everything was pristine indeed. After hours you have to knock or ring because the door to the hotel is locked, but someone quickly opens your door to allow you in. It is "Taranto Vecchio" after all and given the fact it's such a small hotel, security is paramount. The internet service was excellent, though with one caveat I'll list below. I can assure you this, I was so impressed by this hotel that when I return with my wife, this will be the place we stay!

Boutique hotel in the heart of Taranto old town
We spent two nights at Hotel L'Arcangelo. It is a small boutique hotel in a beautifully renovated old building. We had a corner bedroom on the first floor. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are all very helpful and give great advice of what to do/eat. The hotel is situated in Taranto old town (an island) which is slowly undergoing renovation, so in parts can look quite derelict, but is completely safe to explore. An evening stroll around the island is fantastic. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major sites and main shopping street.

A nice hotel with helpful staff and adequate amenities . Overpriced, especially considering the neighborhood. Surprised to be charged 2 euro for water in the minibar when most of the other places I stayed on this trip gave one gratis and they cost 50 centesimi in the neighborhood.

This is a delightful hotel in a great location for the old city of Taranto. Cynthia and her team work hard to make everyone feel welcome and cared for - nothing is too much trouble Our room was very small but had everything we needed, including a balcony. Everything in the hotel was so clean it gleamed The old city is sadly run down but full of character. A tour of the castle is recommended, as is restaurant Il Canale

Small hotel in Taranto
An immaculately restored building (only been open about 7-8 months) just on the edge of Taranto old town. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff very polite, pleasant and helpful. Easy to find, which is always helpful, and with free street parking overlooked by the entrance to the hotel. Very good breakfasts and probably the best capuchini we had in a week's travelling in Puglia. We booked on the strength of other reviews and were not disappointed.

Our room was newly renovated, quite large and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful with local information. Short walk from the train station, just over the bridge and directly on the other side of the piazza with the fountain. Several good restaurants nearby. A fine choice for your stay in Taranto.

Great place to stay in Taranto
Well presented, clean with very attentive and friendly employees. Breakfast was excellent, and the room had everything you could want. There are several excellent restaurants, with the Trattoria Ugo well worth a visit. The location is excellent if you are traveling in Puglia, with easy access to several motorways. I would highly recommend a stay at Hotel L'Arcangelo.
