Via What’s App hebben we doorgegeven dat wij rond 16 uur in Merzouga zouden zijn. Wij werden opgehaald bij Auberge Sahara. Daar konden wij onze auto parkeren. Chauffeur Mohamed stond al klaar met zijn 4WD. Onderweg naar het kamp bezochten we o.a. een oude mijn en dronken we thee bij een nomadenfamilie. Bij aankomst in het kamp hebben wij een rit op een kameel gemaakt voor de zonsondergang. De rit voor zonsopgang hebben we niet gedaan. ’s Avonds hebben we rond een kampvuur gezeten met Omar en Mustapha. Het avondeten was lekker. Omar had goed gekookt (lekkere salade en daarna tajine met groente en kip). De tent was groot en luxe uitgevoerd, met (in ons geval) 3 bedden, toilet, douche en een kleine wasbak. Het is een klein kamp en wij waren die nacht zelfs de enige gasten. De volgende dag bracht Mohamed ons na het ontbijt weer terug naar Merzouga. Deze keer dwars door de duinen via een stuk van de Parijs-Dakar route. Dat was ook een mooie route.
