A very well-located hotel with amazing views. It is next a lovely public landscaped garden with view of the coast and the city. Directly above the hotel is the ancient Greek theatre and the main shopping and dining streets of Taormina are just a few minutes' walk away. The car park is small but very welcomed as parking is impossible in this area. There are a few public parking areas 5 minutes away but they are expensive @20 Euro per day. Once parked, you really don't want to drive again, best to walk around town - it has a one-way system throughout and the roads are very narrow. The town centre itself is pedestrianised.
It is quite an amazing place with a very long stretch of interesting shops including some high-end stuff. Lots of restaurants to choose from.
The hotel itself is fine, the rooms and beds are comfortable and clean, although not huge. We had two rooms with balconies and sea view. Mount Etna was also visible so having a drink in the evening on the balcony or at the terrace bar is a must.
The hotel is built into a cliffside so there are many levels, with the swimming pool on the lowest level - again with spectacular views. If you don't like stairs/steps ( there are lifts to most areas) this might not be for you.
The breakfast is ok - croissants and pastries were good, but not much choice on the savoury side. Served between 7:30 - 10:00, but very little left by 9:20am and they don't seem to restock things like fruits. The staff were helpful with parking.
