"We had the most enjoyable and welcoming stay at this luxury safari lodge. The service from all the staff was exceptional especially from Maximillan and the food was delicious. "Ok experience. Nothing more and nothing less. Two Norwegians pretty used to comfort and good accommodations, and this wasn’t all the way as expected at this price level, even though it’s Serengeti. The staff were very bad in English, so we found ourselves lost in translation very often. Which made planning a safari a bit of a challenge. However, our safari guide was fantastic. The food was ok, but variety was not good at all. The worst: This hotel is MUCH more expensive than they disclose...

"Great stay - clean tent, good food, fantastic staff, in the park so zebras on the doorstep! The only issues were that a) the bathrooms have no doors - which isnt good when you are 3 friends staying in 1 room - and there is a doorframe so goodness knows why there are no doors! And b) there was a grass fire which came very near the hotel and there was zero comminication about whether we were safe or not - simply saying "it will be fine" doesnt really do anything to reassure guests who arent used...

"The location and setting is magnificent, but what made Pioneer so special is the wonderful service by all the staff working under the perfect oversight of Manager Simon. Our tent butler, Juma, was a special delight. The nightly dining under the stars was so special and the meals were excellent. We recommend it to anyone wanting a tented experience with great comfort and pampering."

"Wow! This was my first time in Tanzania, and staying at this hotel made the trip unforgettable. The property is absolutely beautiful, and my room was very nice. Everything still feels new, clean, and very well maintained. The people, the service, the food, and the drinks were all amazing. Every day, the meals and beverages were fresh and delicious. I also loved seeing the chefs come out to speak with guests and check in on service — such a thoughtful touch. The entertainment was great as well; I had so much fun! I truly had the best time and honestly didn’t want to leave. I even got sick during my stay, and the team took such great care of me. As a solo traveler, I felt completely at home. I’d like to recognize a few employees who made my stay especially welcoming and well taken care of: Front Desk: Pendaeli and Barnaba Restaurant Servers: Neema, Mwita,Hamad, Husna, and Ally And the entire lobby bar team — they were fantastic. I will definitely be back!"

"This hotel was BEAUTIFUL! The pictures do not do it any justice. We stayed at the overwater villas for one night and the service was exceptional. The food was good. They brought a floating breakfast that was delicious. Even the regular villas were really nice. Also “the rock”restaurant was 15 mins away. "

"I can only rave about the service I received at this property. Everyone is so kind and so observant and so attentive to every single need. They go above and beyond. When I left this morning, they had a gift for me. I had to leave for my plane at 2 AM. They arranged for transportation pack me a breakfast coffee and gave me two gifts with a smile. I almost hated to leave. It was like I was going to be missed by my new family. The beach is absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of space. The villas are nice and big. The property is in pristine condition. I have no complaints. They remember my birthday also saying to me brought me a cake made up the bed with decorations twice excellent excellent excellent! Highly recommend"
