"We had a great time at La Pirogue. Despite being busy, the resort felt peaceful. We enjoyed the food and gorgeous beach. The sunsets are amazing. "

"A cozy resort with a lovely small beach area directly in front of the hotel, with the longer beach area easily accessible too. Hotel staff were all genuine, very friendly and helpful. Rooms all very big with balconies, sofa and seat in room and huge bathroom with walk in wardrobe area. Restaurant was nice with enough food choices but not huge ranges (with corresponding huge waste usually!) like other bigger resorts might have. Drinks and food not included in your plan were close to London prices. The hotel offered excellent activities such as snorkelling/glass bottom boat trip to nearby reef, pedalos and kayaking, access to sauna and steam rooms all at no extra price. Overall a really lovely place to stay! "

"Pros: I loved the location on beach, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and my room was spacious and clean. Cons: the food was not impressive at all especially for the price. The property is a bit outdated"

"When you think of the word Penthouse you think luxury. This penthouse was certainly not that. Our main concern was the safety of the electrics which blew repeatedly every night, luckily the owner showed us where the fuse box was so we could reset it every time we were plunged into darkness. We worked out in the end that we could only use one appliance at a time. The overhead fan in the main room was broken and we could not even use the very noisy free standing fan provided when using the cooker or any other appliance as the electrics blew. The bedding was cheap and crumpled; the bedroom was advertised on hotels.com as having blackout and an overhead fan, it had neither. Generally the property is run down and done on the cheap and to top it all there is a very noisy construction site next door to compete with the noise of constant traffic on the road below and barking dogs. We booked this penthouse apartment for 11 nights but only endured 4. We have received a partial refund but not full for the nights we did not stay. Most annoying was the owners claim we had not informed them of the repeated electrical problems and that we were leaving - she stood in the kitchen face to dace with me and witnessed my stress and upset and I told her we would be leaving. If you like a homestay feel and don’t mind poor quality facilities, this is the place for you - the owners clearly enjoy talking to and organising their guests. We just wanted privacy and safe accommodation. "

"Some of the furniture in the our room was quite worn out and had some kind of dirt all across it. It looked like there was gum or something sticky on the chair so we were unable to use the desk area properly. The mirror in the desk was also quite dirty. Everything else was absolutely amazing and beds were absolutely fantastic to sleep on. Thank you for all of the amazing hospitality and all of the services that were provided. "
