« I stayed at this hotel with my partner for three nights, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. First of all, despite my Gold status and VIP access from HOTELS.com, the hotel refused any upgrade, claiming that only ACCOR chain “corporate” members are entitled to this privilege, even though suites were available. I sent several messages to HOTELS.com and to the hotel chain, as my Gold status clearly grants me an upgrade when a room is available. This policy had been confirmed...

« Nous avons pris 2 nuits à l’arrivée à Jakarta pour pouvoir récupérer du décalage horaire et se reposer avant de partir vers Yogyakarta. Points positifs : Le personnel était très gentil et disponible. La chambre grande et la literie confortable. La piscine peu fréquentée donc nous l’avons eu pour nous quand on y a été. Points moins appréciés : la localisation de l’hôtel faisait qu’on ne pouvait pas se déplacer à pied dans les environs et donc il fallait prendre un grab pour tout. La première...

« This is a great hotel that I keep visiting when I have the chance in Jakarta. Stylish and impeccably maintained, it offers comfort and pleasure (with a swimming pool) at s reasonable price. Staff is incredibly kind and will do everything to satisfy you. I was « guest of the day » and got an updrade, presents, and a cute « surprise decoration » in the room - loved it! »

"I stayed at this hotel with my partner for three nights, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. First of all, despite my Gold status and VIP access from HOTELS.com, the hotel refused any upgrade, claiming that only ACCOR chain “corporate” members are entitled to this privilege, even though suites were available. I sent several messages to HOTELS.com and to the hotel chain, as my Gold status clearly grants me an upgrade when a room is available. This policy had been confirmed to me, yet the hotel still refused. I am also disappointed with HOTELS.com, which did not respond adequately to my requests to resolve this issue. We were initially placed in a very noisy room and requested a quieter one. The room offered was a connecting room. Between the first and second night, loud construction work began, making our stay extremely uncomfortable. Between the second and third night, a strong paint smell forced us to change rooms a second time. Other issues added to this poor experience: - Coffee machine not working, with long delays before it was fixed - Television not connected (photographic proof provided) - Room service: food arrived cold Overall, this is far from the experience one expects from a 5-star hotel. After staying in many hotels of this category, this is the first time I have encountered such poor service. I do not recommend this hotel and hope management will take measures to improve the quality of its services."

![National Monument, Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Built to celebrate the struggle for independence of Indonesia the National Monument stands tall (132m) in the centre of Jakarta, Southeast Asia's largest city. You can take a lift to the top of the Monument for a view over the city, although the view is quite hazy with the pollution of all the traffic throughout the city. This is one of the busiest city's we have visited. 
Because it is so busy Jakarta gets a bad reputation but there are still some good things to see here and many bars and restaurants. I actually liked the atmosphere of the hustle and bustle of the city although crossing the road is crazy :)   #InStone
