This is a small town with few dining options. If you do not make reservations at there restaurant ( which we did not) you may be out of luck ( ramen anyone) after spending north of $1500.00 for three nights we were unable to dine in there restaurant for dinner. Fortunately we reserved in advance breakfast. The staff after considerable effort managed to find dinner accommodations elsewhere but it was touch and go for sure!! We were wanting to stay up near the ropeway but that was closed for repairs and the spots near there were full. I bumped into this spot on line and it felt like a secret treasure. Loved the Onsen baths. Dipped into every single one on property including my own private one in my room. We both slept great in the traditional beds on the floor. Super cozy sheets and feather pillows. Meals were outstanding. Little things needed a bit of a freshening. Like woodwork that needed refinishing and the coat/ robe you wear over your traditional pants and tops were a bit full of threads to be trimmed. Tho super cozy and soft and everything was super clean. That stuff is so small. Would totally come back. ##### Andrea Stayed 1 night in Oct 2023 ### 8/10 Good #### chani emma Nov 20, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities i think everything in this area is overpriced, so not much option anyway, but i did wish a few things would be better. first the hallway carpets are really dirty, they should steam clean them. there is no elevator if you are in the rooms on the second floor and they dont have someone who looks sturdy enough to help to carry them up the stairs. it also requires a pretty far walk. the private onsen is really just a small ceramic tub that only fits one person and the water runs the whole time so its a little annoying at night. the private onsen that can be reserved not in the room is big enough for two people, but you have to walk through the hallway which is pretty cold, so not worth it. we didnt go to the public onsen. the bbq dinner on the first night was amazing, but the shabu shabu dinner the second night was not to our liking at all, and the breakfast is really traditional and at this point in our trip we wernt in the mood for it anymore. the room was also really basic and blankets on the futon were really starchy and uncomfortable. i would consider the rooms a 2 star to be honest, and the hotel itself as a 4 star bc the lobby area and extra snack areas were nice. its right next to the bus station that takes you to Komikoche reserve though, so that was awesome. ##### chani emma Stayed 2 nights in Nov 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Jie Ying Nov 2, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities The staff were very attentive and welcoming.
