They even provided us with a list of transport options and restaurants nearby. They offer a free shuttle service in the morning to the train station, too. The building itself was in great condition too, and the rooms were really nice. The only issue we had was the beds were very, very firm, so it was difficult to sleep on. Not a single issue, and everything is labeled in several languages which made using the bidet a bit easier. The biggest thing is how incredible the manager (I think) is: besides being friendly and helpful, when he saw the bags we were gonna carry all the way to the bus station, he just went and drove us there himself. By far the best experience staying anywhere, and if I'm ever back in Japan, I know where I'll be staying. Did not use the kitchen much, but was not able to find green teas or coffee - maybe I just did not know where to look. Met friendly fellow travellers . Front desk host helped me with my luggage (rooms are upstairs) This place is great, quiet, and located near Hida No Sato - BUT rather far from downtown Takayama. I missed the bus from and to the station… and had to lug my ever heavier roller bag. Better time management would help avoid this problem.
