Sunny and cheerful, the Shean house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and features panoramic forest views.

Plush new living room furnishings and a kitchen overhaul have given fresh atmosphere to this large contemporary 2-story home. New 50 inch Smart TV with wireless internet, gas fireplace, new couch, new easy chairs, kitchen counter stools, and dining table for 10-14, well-appointed kitchen. One - 3/4 bath in hallway near kitchen and living room. Master bedroom upstairs with King bed, TV, and full bath. Guest bedroom also upstairs with Queen bed.

Downstairs there is a laundry room, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (1 with tub, 1 with shower only) on entry level: two beautiful bedrooms with Queen beds and forested view; back room with 3 bunkbeds and a single bed plus large screen TV with DVD and game hook-up.

Spacious driveway and 2 car garage. Chains or snow tires are often required in winter. The elevation in Tahoe City is 6,250 feet. It is 7,000 feet at the cabin. This means you climb 750 feet in the 2 miles between Pine Avenue and the Talmont neighborhood. Please be sure to read our Winter Disclosure, provided with a rental contract once a reservation is made.

Has potential but needs maintenance

This rental has a good size for big family and we made the best of our trip. That said, we had no internet service 3/4 days we stayed here and heaters were not working properly. We got some additional heaters during our stay. Neighborhood is very nice, quite and with good access to go for hikes. With some maintenance and faster reaction to customer needs this place has great potential.

Big beautiful house

The house is super spacious and plenty of room for all 9 of us - 5 adults and 4 kids (who loved the bunk room), on a nice quiet curl de sac with parking for 3-4 cars. They hot tub was great after a day in the snow - great back yard area for the kiddos and adults to play and sled. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots and pans, and baking ware - however there was only 2 dish towels and when they say they don’t stock paper products- they mean it - 1 roll of paper towels, and 2 rolls of toilet paper (however - one of our bathrooms had like 3 turns on the paper holder and only 1 extra roll - so definitely plan ahead and bring plenty of your own also need to bring your own counter cleaning products - the kitchen is upstairs so you have to drag all your food and coolers etc up 2 flights of stairs (just an fyi) Overall-the place was awesome - would totally book here again .

Beautiful home

Our stay was wonderful minus a couple small issues. There weren't batteries for one remote, there was only 1 roll of paper towels, and we couldn't get the downstairs tv to work. Other than that the property was clean and spacious. Hot tub was amazing. The views from this home really make you feel like you are in a treehouse. We will definitely be back. Hopefully it is better stocked in the future!

Perfect getaway

The property was incredibly clean and well stocked. We had a large party (8 adults, 5 children) and the house was a great size for all. I would recommend bringing extra paper towels and garbage bags, as we had run out of the ones supplied. The kids LOVED "their" bunk bed room. The house is close to the lake (about 5 minute drive) and grocery stores (Save Mart and Safeway) for last minute needs. When we first arrived, the cleaning crew was still there, so check in was about fifteen minutes later. When I hadn't received the check-in email, I contacted the office and they assisted me right away to provide lock box access to the keys. The hot tub was well maintained and clean. The carpet was clearly new (and incredibly plush). Overall, the stay was perfect for our weekend getaway!

Summer in February

Perfect house for our small group. Three bedrooms and four bathrooms was far more than adequate for our party of four 50-somethings. Proximity to ski resorts, restaurants, and groceries was perfect. Partial view of the lake from upstairs balcony was a bonus. Very well stocked kitchen and every type of media device imaginable. Very comfortable furnishings too. Just needs a hot tub!

Cozy & clean winter getaway (but be sure to bring your own paper goods!)

Our family had a great time at this property for thanksgiving weekend. It was clean, cozy, and great for our group. We loved the big table, nice kitchen, comfy couch, lots of beds. Our recommendations for others looking at this cabin: bring lots of your own paper towels, toilet paper, and anything you may need in the kitchen like tin foil and ziplocks. We only got one roll of paper towels, which was very difficult for thanksgiving weekend, especially in heavy snow on a day when shops aren't open. However the management company was very helpful with bringing us more garbage bags and laundry detergent when there wasn't any. Also, if you plan to visit in the winter, you really must have 4 wheel drive or at least all wheel drive. We had two front wheel drive cars with chains that got stuck several times trying to make it the last 2 miles to the house. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Check in was very easy (lock box), there was a useful binder of information, and it was comfy, spacious, and clean.

Loved the house, the neighborhood was wonderful for walking and hiking. Can’t do anything about the mosquitoes. Near Tahoe City and the Commons Beach. Would like to visit this place next summer if the owner is going to rent.

Clean and well appointed rental

Several areas of the house had been updated since we originally booked the house, which was a very pleasant surprise. We were very happy with the location of the house on a cul-de-sac which allowed for plenty of parking (which isn't always something you can find closer to town). A previous review noted a neighbor dog using this house's yard for it's potty business and we found that to be very true...everyday! The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, and general cooking supplies. If you're staying for more than a couple of days, definitely bring some additional rolls of paper towels as they only provide 1. We found there to be plenty of bath towels, blankets, pillows, etc. With the house, the only issue is that the dishwasher is old and doesn't really work. I advised the management company when we left but never heard back from them. In general, communication with the management company could be better. We could only provide the deposit via check which was mailed out the day after we booked. Days later I received an email from the management company indicating we were at risk of losing the reservation due to not paying the deposit. When I responded that it had been mailed almost a week prior, they responded that they hadn't checked their mailbox and later confirmed it was there waiting for them! I received 6 duplicate, automated messages the day our stay was to begin with the subject "Your Check-In Tomorrow". They don't send the house access code until the check-in time (which is odd in my experience) and as we showed up right at check-in, I had to call to receive it since it didn't come as indicated. I'd say the house is great and we'd definitely return to this location. Property manager leaves a bit to be desired although nothing that made the stay problematic.

We like it.

We like the house a lot just a couple of details that I think they can fix.Internet wasn’t working maybe there was problems with the provider. on the showers hot water runs on and off when the 3 showers are in use or the kitchen sink. Need some blinds on living room for privacy, price was good so that’s why I’m giving it 5 stars.

Great house but just a few things that we noticed

The house is great. Plenty of room for our family of 10. Everything inside was clean we really enjoyed using the gas grill. The couple things that we noticed is that the neighboring dogs would potty in front of the house so there was a lot of dog poop to watch out for. Also there is a loose flooring in the main deck upstairs.
