Unprepared room

Posted 16-Nov-2017
Our room did not have its lamps plugged in. The door had a large gap at the corners of the frame. The bathroom tub was clogged. It was so disappointing but because it was already late at night and we were exhausted, we only then reported it the next day when we checked out. The first time spending a night there while still having its current renovations was excellent but this time was the total opposite.

Do not book this hotel

Posted 16-Nov-2017
The staff was great but the place is horrible. The place is being remodeled and is dirty. It should be closed until they finish remodeling. Dirty beds and stained furniture. The whole place smelled of fresh paint. The doors were crooked and hard to open or close. I can go on and on.

I would not have booked this if they had declared this property was under construction. We had a long drive and arrived after dark hence had to stay.

American Horror Story

Posted 13-Nov-2017
Pros: NOTHING AT ALL
Cons: Tell the truth about the condition of the property. Curtains, paint bathroom and the staff could be kinder. I am calling the BBB.
Location: It was a good location for us but there was a big fight either right outside our window or in a closeby room. We almost had to call the police.
It was an anniversary so we wanted a nice night close to our favorite restauraunt. I trust Expedia and have never been dissapointed. The add said only (3) rooms left so it was 75.00 instead of 104. We seemed to be the only paying customers there. It was fully under construction and looked closed wehn we arrived. The front desk clerk was rude when I arrived-unheard of at a Red Lion. It was a war zone. Chain link fence around teh entrance I could not figure out how to get in. When I got to the hallway where the room was it was disgusting. dirty all the doors had scuffs scratches and paint splatters. The inside of the room was barely put together adn there was red paint splattered by teh door that was hastily covered with white paint and it looked like a crime scene. I called and asked for another room. There was a two inch gap under the door and the bathroom was filthy. During the night the soap dispenser in the br inexplicably fell off of the wall crashing into the tub adn wer were alreay on edge. Then there was some kind of fight outside our window about 2 hours after that about 2 am. The staff were so RUDE. I will not stay in a RL again and I am an event planner fo ra major University we spend about 50K an event and have used Red Lion for many events. I am pulling my professional and personal business due to this expereince. It was like a scene out of the American Horror Show. We left at 4 am to try to get some sleep in our own space. It was an aweful expereince.

Disappointing

Posted 12-Nov-2017
Pros: Not much. The staff was nice. I didn't make a big stink about the issues but did explain the issues and why I was checking out early.
Cons: Hopefully the new construction will take care of the problem I encountered.
Was undergoing construction/remodeling which was not accurately reflected on the website. Hallway walls were chipped, doors had chips and paint missing, no baseboards. Turned on the room heater and the fan blew out white pellets of some sort; looked like insulation or something. Looked like it'd snowed in the room. The breakfast was very bad and not at all what was advertised (due to the construction). I checked out after 1 night and moved across the street to a much nicer hotel. Paid a little more but it was well worth it.

Horrible!

Posted 12-Nov-2017
The hotel is going through a complete remodel where it should be closed. Woke up to pounding on the wall outside my window with a construction worker singing loudly. That was followed by what sounded like mini explosions which had to be some type of construction device. Lower molding on the wall were removed all throughout the third floor, leaving a 1inch gap at the base of the door. The third floor stinks throughout to include the room of course. The free breakfast is a complete joke or maybe a prank. The owner should be ashamed for operating this hotel in these conditions. I felt sorry for what the staff must have to go through dealing with complaints and refund request.

Current construction zone 11/2017

Posted 11-Nov-2017
As of mid November 2017 the hotel is literally a construction zone, slated to last until mid January 2018, if memory serves. The laundry room and pool are both unavailable due to this, the hall carpets are chronically dirty and the hallways appear to have random furniture in them. There is construction noise in the mornings and evenings. Add to this the sketchy continental breakfast and if I had to stay more than a night or two I would have found somewhere else to stay and walked away.

The entire hotel appears as if it has been condemned yet they are continuing to let customers stay there. It is currently under renovations to the exterior but by the conditions of the interior they should have begun there first. The pictures do not show true to the rooms that are present, even the hotel operator agreed once we made mention of that.

Under construction and gross

Posted 9-Nov-2017
Under construction is one thing, but if you’re not going to take care of the few rooms you do have then you should totally shut down to remodel. We were never told it warned it was under construction. Pretty gross.
