Older hotel being remodeled

Posted 18-Jan-2018
Pros: Price and loction
Cons: Who knows? Was being trmodeled
Location: Near JBLMC. Many restaurants nearby.
Nice older property being remodeled. Free breakfast that street people and construction people were scoffing down, funny employees would let that happen.

Nothing like the pictures.

Should’ve changed the sheets. Construction made it dirty and difficult with no warning. Sheets weren’t changed.

Hard to be great during a remodel

Posted 14-Jan-2018
First off. Remodel. So with that in mind you know it’s not going to be great but to be fair it was better than some we’ve stayed in lately. Bed was definitely firm but not overly so. Room was clean but things like trim were missing (remember - remodel), but the shower had good pressure and the water definitely got hot enough. The breakfast though was below average. Neither the wife or I was impressed but the room cancelled the bad out giving it a 3 out of 5.

Wasn't that clean, building was still being renovated but the rooms they had available where not that nice even thought I called ahead of time to ask about the cleanliness of the rooms considering the building was being renovated and she assured me the rooms where clean and nice, but that wasn't true, I found hair all in the sheets and other things in the room that didn't seem that clean to me.

Under construction

Posted 14-Jan-2018
Firstly, the Hotel staff was great- key machine was down and the lady didn’t lose patience. Upon check in rooms, were still being renovated. The room still had no baseboards and smelled highly of paint fumes. Recommend hotel renovated in sections as to ensure guests aren’t subject to contractors, paint fumes and exposed drywall etc.

Yuck! Waited in line for 20 mins to check in, many shady characters in and out. Hotel was renovating and dusty dirty old paint. Loud neighboring people. Never again I'd rather sleep in my car

construction woes

Posted 9-Jan-2018
Pros: location
Cons: Insuring that rooms are habitable and that housekeeping knows how many people are in each room.
We had no notice that the hotel was undergoing a major remodel and rooms were pretty shoddy. Torn curtains, broken doors, heater that was very very noisy and broken or stuck doors.Had to go to 4 rooms to finally get one that was "ok." We were there for 4 nights and housekeeping couldn't give us the proper number of towels. Had to get them from the night clerk. On the plus side, the staff that we interfaced with were outstanding in helping us through the difficulties. Bottom line is that the hotel probably shouldn't have tried to remain open during the renovation.

Red Lion Hotel, Tacoma

Posted 6-Jan-2018
Pros: Hotel staff was friendly.
Cons: Disclosure of conditions for guests should be clear.
The was no indication from Expedia when the hotel was booked that it was under construction -- plastic across rooms under construction, molding stripped from hallways, front entrance hard to find. There was a note in elevator--no electricity next Monday from 9a.m. to 6 p.m. I HOPE guests you booked are apprised before they arrive. Food advertised to purchase for in room eating was limited to breakfast burriitos and noodles. Hotel staff was amazingly upbeat and friendly given hotel conditions . . . I had requested the Hotel Murano. For some reason, Expedia booked me at the Red Lion instead. I accepted as I figured a Red Lion would be fine. I am unlikely to book a hotel through Expedia again.

Worst facility I've stayed in , ever.

Posted 2-Jan-2018
I understand it's under construction, but the rooms they are renting were dirty, unfinished, and furniture looked like old mismatched garage sale furniture. Absolutely disgusting. I will never stay at a Red Lion again if this is what they are like.

I reserved many weeks ago a king suite w hot tub in room. No rooms have hot tubs. Plan for hotel to reimburse 50% after Expedia contacts them. Extremely disappointed
