Class Reunion

Posted 3-Oct-2016
Pros: Historical reconstruction, clean and very convenient to downtown Baldwinsville, NY.
This is a great historical property that was originally a flour mill on the Seneca River. Having grown up in the community, it was a pleasure seeing how the mill was recreated into an Inn. The rooms are very clean and nicely appointed, providing every comfort for our stay. I highly recommend the Red Mill Inn for a nights stay or a special event.

Started great, ended poorly.

Posted 12-Sep-2016
Cons: Customer service, use your lost and found
Had a nice stay, however, the continental breakfast consisted of a couple bagels, jelly packets, a gallon of milk and OJ in an ice bucket and over cooked coffee. My wife accidentally left behind a personal item that the staff threw out instead of leaving in lost and found. They offered nothing to compensate and that was a very personal item lost. Understandably our fault, but the hotel man I spoke to they would call back but didn't, my wife spoke to housekeeping on her own later and they stated they should have kept it but didn't, she was very upset. I will not be going there again. We contacted them the day after so wasn't that we left it there for a long time either. The hotel was contacted within 24 hours of check out.

The inside of the hotel looks worn.

Posted 28-Aug-2016
Pros: Nothing
Location: We were there to move our children into college.
The hallways have old carpet. The carpet in our room had stains throughout. It looked dirty. Our bathroom did not have the free soap, conditioner and shampoo. I had to call the front desk for them. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels, bread and packets of oatmeal. There was a musty smell in the hallways.

Great location, terrible condition and service

If you have always wanted a hotel where you can watch the operation of canal locks from the room, this is the place for you! Just bring your own febreeze, because the curtains stink of smoke or mold (or sleep with the windows open to air it out like I did), and unplug the phone, because you will get unsolicited wake up calls in the middle of the night. I got wake up calls two days in a row, although I complained both days and told the manager I shouldn't have to complain about anything two days in a row. She agreed with me but couldn't fix it.

A Simple Slice of Heaven

Posted 5-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Wonderful, scenic location for a getaway from the hurried pace of suburbia. The only little thing that got me was there was no fridge or microwave in the room, but you get around those things if you know ahead of time and bring a cooler with you (I honestly missed that when reading room amenities). Staff was kind and helpful, room was nice and the views of the river and canal made for a refreshing stay.

Stayed there for a relaxing night away. Was able to walk to a great diner then to a bar for a drink near near their outdoor fireplace and Karaoke. It was a great time.

Nice overnight stay

Posted 1-Jun-2016 on Hotels
We just stayed for one night on the way to Canada. Very nice town with restaurants within distance. There is a nice walking path alongside the canal. The view from our room was nice as we could see the lock and river which was loaded with fish. The room was small but comfortable with nice furnishings and very clean. Good shower and great fluffy towels. Only problem was a 6:30 automated wake up call I didn't ask for. Apparently housekeeping staff is supposed to clear it (not sure why the front desk couldn't as I remember this from another review,) Enjoyed our brief stay.
