This is not a bad option in a very expensive city. The village is a pleasant location away from the noise of Newtown streets, but close to restaurants, and about a 10 min walk to the local swimming pool. Lack of air-con is a minus in hot Sydney. There is a games and tv room in a nearby part of the village, which is OK. It is a bit of a hassle to find reception from Carrillon Avenue - stairs and poor signage - and there is a longish wait as all customers are booked in and taken to their rooms in different parts of the village by the only person at reception. So make sure you retrain the expedia booking confirmation and present it at the reception. I was offered an upgrade, and I received a follow up phone call about the incident. The staff at the reception were friendly, but they are not hospitality professionals. I think you should take it into account that you are choosing a student accommodation.
