ATELIER - Stylish Holiday Accommodation with Spa & Fireplace

Located at Katoomba in the heart of the Blue Mountains - is ATELIER, the former studio of renowned Australian artist Tim Maguire, winner of the Moet & Chandon Australian Art Fellowship in 1993.

ATELIER is nestled in the grounds of historic Burnie Brae (Circa 1908) in a quiet suburban location and is within easy walking distance of the local main street with its shops, cafes and restaurants.

A short and easy drive away is the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, with all its natural beauty and various attractions just waiting for you to explore.

Externally, ATELIER is unassuming and blends in well with the main house. However, internally is has an astonishing open plan design with a loft stye bedroom.

ATELIER is truly a unique concept in modern and stylish mountain holiday accommodation and living.

Offering a cosy wood fire to snuggle up by on a cold night, a relaxing spa after that enduring bushwalk and a queen size bed at the end of a fantastic day.

ATELIER is your home away from home and is available to couples seeking a romantic getaway from that busy city life.

Off street parking is usually available for your stay and you are quite welcome to use it, just ensure that the gates are left closed after you have entered or left the property please.

However, there are times when we do require the driveway area for our own use (landscaping supplies etc.) and we are unable to give much notice that we require it, but most of the time it is available.

At these times we ask that you park on the street in front of the property as there is always plenty of parking available throughout the year.

If you need to purchase provisions for your stay, there is a Coles, a Woolworths and an ALDI supermarket close by, as well as various bottle-shops including a Dan Murphy’s about 150 meters away.

We are also close to the local cinema complex (The Edge), as well as the local aquatic center which contains a 25 meter indoor heated pool, a 50 meter outdoor pool and various gym facilities.

The property was a little disappointing.
Kitchen drawers were cluttered ,untidy with some dirty utensils in them. No bathmat or hand towel in the bathroom. The fitted bottom sheet did not fit the mattress properly. The rug on the lounge floor was dirty. I folded it up so as not to walk on it. General untidiness of cupboard containing broom, clothes airer etc.

Property was disappointing
The floor, bathrrom, kitchen areas all clean and tidy. However, the windows were covered with cobwebs and dirt and there were dozens of dead flies on upper window ledges which you look down on from the mezzanine level. There are no insect screens on any windows and doors so no chance for fresh air without letting in flies and mosquitoes. The property looks lovely online but I wouldn't recommend it to others. Also we hadn't received the code to unlock the property and the owner was quite abusive when we phoned for it. Apparently he said he sent it back in January (a month prior) which we find quite unusual. Most properties send it the day before or the day of arrival.

Tranquil spot with easy access to town and amazing sites
Atelier is peacefully located in a residential part of town but only a few minutes’ walk from amenities, bars and restaurants. The property has a beautifully kitted out bathroom and a kitchen with everything you need for a few days. It’s an unusual and quirky property and we found it extremely comfortable - lovely big sofas, a luxurious bed and a convenient kitchen/dining table. It has a striking fireplace which can be used in colder months. The garden is beautiful and gives you the feeling of being tucked away from everything. We walked to and from the hiking spots at Echo Point, it was a great way to explore Katoomba and the incredible Blue Mountains and meant we didn’t have to find a parking space on a busy weekend. Mike (the owner) was extremely accommodating and the whole booking process was smooth from start to finish. He sent us terrific notes on the house, Katoomba and the wider area. His dining recommendations were spot on, as were all the travel directions and other tips. A great stay!

Wonderful!
Excellent location. Very private down a path surrounded by a lovely garden. We loved the fireplace the most. It is so great to come home from walking and sit in front of a log fire when it is cool.
