Spend lazy summer days sunbathing on your private dock across the street, hiking at nearby Deep Creek Lake State Park, or simmering in your outdoor hot tub. Then, when snowy weather hits, you’ll find skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and more available just a short drive away at the Wisp Resort. Stonegate was built for outdoor fun! No matter the weather, this home is sure to please with a plethora of great amenities at your fingertips- like a wood burning fireplace, gas grill, and rustic stylings. There is nothing better than a getaway to Stonegate!

Split lake front home. Lake Access and Private Dock Slip are located directly across the street from the house. Please note that docks are only guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Nice property

This house was perfect for our family’s needs as far as space, variety of cookware and serving a large group. The rooms and beds were nice sized and linens were clean and plentiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated the included firewood. Our only complaints were that there were lots cobwebs and spiderwebs on some of the basement and living room ceilings and windows, and a lot of the fireplace smoke came out into the living room when we used it. We used the home’s vacuum to clean the basement ceiling webs (the vacuum had a bad smell and needed to be unclogged but we understand the home is also pet friendly). The fireplace fan did not sound like it was functioning properly or it maybe the chimney needed to be cleaned out. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here! The proximity to the water and beautiful scenery from the deck were just what we all wanted.

We had a large group. We were able to have kids upstairs, my husband and I on main level and the other family down stairs. It is a very nice house. Could use some updating and Air Conditioning. However, They did have fans. Had a great time.

Budget Rental for big group

We wanted an affordable place for family and friends to meet for a long weekend that was dog friendly and on the water. this listing was the top of our search criteria and it fit the requirements. It is spacious for 10-12 people and the location is ideal. However it is very poorly maintained and has only the most basic amenities so keep that in mind. The listing is accurate that the house is sparse but it was a bit more rundown than the pictures showed. The basement has a humidity issue which is leading to some mold growth and the bathrooms are near breaking point. Overall the house hasn't been updated since the 80s so expect the usual issues like old windows and doors, poor lighting and saggy floors. Had to mark down because of all the quality issues. The location is ideal on a quiet section of the lake with a private dock. The house is massive and has enough furniture for 10 adults to have privacy and still meet for group meals.

Nice holiday getaway

Very nice cabin located close to Deep Creek Lake State Park. Road in front of cabin was a little challenging for walking. Comfortable bedrooms and well stocked kitchen. Would recommend.

Bait and Switch

The pictures of the property online must be years old because the actual property it so worn out, smelly, and basically was filthy. One of the beds is on cinder blocks, dog tracks on the carpet the scent of old dog , mold and mildew throughout the home. The lower level flooded they came to clean the water and left the dryer fans in there and in the way for three days!!!! Front of one one of the ovens was missing and oven was broken. Post-it notes on almost all appliances explaining how to make said product operate without breaking down. I’m back home and I’m still awaiting that call from guest services!!!!

Don’t rent this property

The owner of this property is really taking everyone for the money. The outside is awful, old unfinished wood deck with rusted nails will give splinter or worse, hot tub is green with algae, we won’t get in it. Downstairs bathroom is full of mildew and shower is just a drip. Disgusting. All the screen doors are broken beyond repair. Floors are stained and chipped and awful. The place needs to be updated!! There is only so much one can do in cleaning if there is so much old outdated bathroom and kitchen and outside. Six bedroom house only has five flimsy chairs at fire pit. One was cracked. Don’t rent this place until the owner gives you bathrooms, kitchen, and decking that is safe and clean! Awful. Located in such a great spot.

Great location but

I had read the reviews of the property so knew what to expect but was hoping that some of the maintenance issues had been resolved prior to our stay. We really needed dog-friendly home with a dock slip so chose this home despite the less-than-stellar reviews. Pros: Ample space/good layout, boat slip across the road, great location on lake and close to the State Park. Cons: Felt dirty and in disrepair, lots of cobwebs inside and out, everything in the house is original and in desperate need of updating--burn marks in linoleum, plumbing doesn't hold temperatures, mildew in lower level shower, generally needs a lot of TLC. No A/C, which was only an issue a night or two but we got very lucky with weather overall. I would not choose this home again--would rather something smaller and further away to have something more updated and clean.

Great location but seriously needs better upkeep

The location to everything and lake access were perfect. However the bedspreads were stained and smelled bad (my sisters smelled like urine), beer cans littered through the firepit area upon arrival (we cleaned up), cob webs and dead bugs all over the property and the most haphazard hot tub cover that was falling apart in our hands as we tried to follow the covering rules for the properly. It was fine for a friendly weekend with the girls but honestly the cleanliness and overall appeal to the house left a lot to be desired.

I do not recommend renting w Railey, unfortunately they are one of the biggest vacation rental agencies in deep creek. Check in was not until 4, I called the number I was provided to see if we could check in earlier. The girl in the phone said "no problem, we can let you in early." Well when I got to the office to pick up the keys, the lady there would NOT let me check in. I told her the situation and that someone on the phone told me we could but she still wouldn't let me. They need to get on the same page and stops telling their customers different things. The house- it was big and fit our needs. However, like other reviewers mentioned, the placed was not very clean and needed A LOT of tlc. All the screen doors were off the hinges/broken, it was dusty and floors were sticky. There were a lot of dead bugs everywhere also and no ac. I also thought it was a little ridiculous to have to pick up the keys at an office. This is 2021, get a lockbox/key pad to get into the house rather than making things difficult for customers. It was nice to have our own dock so that was a plus. Over all, we probably would not stay here again and will try not to go through Railey again.

This home was filthy inside and out of the home. It took 3 adults 2hrs to clean the house when arriv

There were food crumbs on the coffee tables, we emptied the vacuum cleaner 4 times when we first got there. The website shows a working clean hot tub. However, the hot tub was filthy. The filter was broken and overall cleanliness was not welcoming at all. When we arrived both sliding screen doors were broken. We were able to fix the upstairs one to the deck ourselves. The dock had a missing rubber guard on the right hand side of the dock. We found it in the weeds and secured it to the dock. Overall, the home owner needs to start checking on the company they have managing the home. They could do a much better job. However, the location of the home was great!

Three top bedrooms need air conditioning. Gutters need cleaned. Downspout secured. Basement bathroom too wet. Lights to road in disrepair. Walk to road needs 2 lawn timbers. Shelf missing from oven. Screens need attention, especially over kitchen sink. Private dock needs re-connected to shore. Firewood protection totally inadequate. Screen doors difficult to use without coming off track. Great BIG family house

This house was perfect for us - 6 adults and 10 kids. There is lots of room and the bedrooms are spread out and spacious. The beds were comfortable, there were TVs in most, and the kitchen was what we needed. The deck is enormous and great for the whole gang. We had a minor sewer issue there (NOT the homeowner’s fault), so I emailed the management company. They had their maintenance people out within an hour, and the repair company (a county sewer employee) was there a bit later and fixed it. Overall, this was a nice place and we would definitely come back!

So much bigger than the pictures make it seem

We were a little worried based on the pictures if there would be enough room for the 11 of us (all adults). It was perfect! The kitchen and main living room are so much bigger than the pictures make them seem. The location was also great - so close to hiking trails and the lake. We also loved the HUGE hot tub and firepit. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation!
