Close to the casino and the Bay. Three-night minimum in prime summer months. On Belanger Pond is a charming cottage in a storybook-like setting. This property is located north of Suttons Bay and is next to a large pond. It sleeps six people and has 2-bedrooms and 1-bathroom. There is a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, and the upper bedroom is in the loft. The cozy living room is off the kitchen and a large enclosed porch faces south over the pond. Mornings are beautiful on the porch with birdsong and a cool breeze. This property is a magical spot with gorgeous landscaping and a serene setting. Enjoy a fire in the provided fire pit. There is a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking on a splendid summer evening. This is a great location to enjoy everything in Leelanau County. Stop at some of the wineries, Leelanau Sands Casino, the vintage Bay Theater, or one of the great local restaurants. The house is 20 miles from Traverse City. The cottage was SUPER cozy and in the perfect location for what we had planned. It was only a five minute drive to downtown Sutton’s Bay and a 10 minute drive in the other direction would get you to Northport! Plenty of great seating areas and spaces to cozy up. My mother and I enjoyed the French shabby chic feel of the place, and loved sitting on the porch and patio to enjoy the serene pond view. A great place to rest after many hikes and wine tastings. You even get a few peeks of the big lake from the porch and upstairs bedroom!Yes, you get some traffic noise as you are close to the road, but it's really only busy in the morning and early evening -- didn't bother us. I would say the only con is the well water (typical for when you're outside city limits up north), but we bought a water jug for drinking water and it was absolutely fine! Reviewer Comments: It was a super cute older cottage like rental with lots of space to spread out. LOVED the outdoor deck space and enclosed porch (in case bugs/mosquitoes-which we didn't have). We had 4 adults and the one bathroom worked well. The 2nd bedrooms which is upstairs has a tight/lower ceiling at the top, so beware if you are taller (I am only 5'9" and I hit my head more than once). Also, no rails so if you're unsteady or have issues with balance, I would suggest staying on the main floor. Being from Western North Carolina my husband and I were able to adapt however, I would probably suggest that anyone with less of a heat tolerance be sure and check the weather for your stay! I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house had a cozy feel and nice cottage look to it, which is what we wanted in Northern Michigan. Unfortunately I woke up the first night to the sound of mice running in the house which felt very unsettling. We never saw any out during the daytime, but I was on edge the rest of our stay, and we ended up leaving a day early.
