Needs updating a superior should have at these a king size bed, a standard double is not good enough, rooms are tired and small. Most of the great photo's are of the seperate wedding venue , which isnt the 70/80s add on hotel.

It was fine for one night. Nothing spectacular, nothing awful. Bed was fine for a single person, but could feel the springs in the mattress. Don't expect a luxury pool, its just a pool with a very hot and tiny changing room. Wouldnt recommend ordering from the menu - initially wrong meal was bought out, they said sorry by bringing an extra bowl of chips which wasnt wanted, bought correct meal but was missing two ingredients. Maybe should have stuck to the buffet when it was so busy.

I only stayed at this hotel due to the fact they advertised having a snooker table on their website for my 7 night stay. It then transpired that it was not for public use but they could let me use it for £60 per night which I thought was extremely unacceptable. I was looking for a place to stay every month I travel for a week at a time but it looks as though this hotel may not get my business.

It is a unique Property with previous owners being Lord Byron's daughter Ada Lovelace, who wrote the mathematical algorithm for modern British computers, and Tommy Sopwith who developed his Aeroplane for the RAF. It was perfect to visit RHS Wisley, and avoid the horrendous M25 Junction 10 tail back, travelling through the Surrey countryside. It had beautiful grounds and a large lake.

Staff were amazing, they saw me hobbling after I'd damaged my ankle and got me some ice and towels without me asking, and fitted us in for dinner and breakfast without questions when we hadn't booked due to again seeing me injured!

A comfortable stay
A good clean, comfortable stay. Friendly welcoming reception staff. The only request is that at breakfast have mugs that fit under the coffee machines, the mugs seemed purely for decoration which seems such a waste.

Rooms are very small and dated and persistent plumbing noises. Very cramped rooms even when upgraded. Phone and TV remote is filthy. Electric heating is antiquated. Staff are very friendlt, and amenities are good.

Lovely setting for a hotel although the weather was poor so we could not enjoy it to its full extent. Staff were friendly and helpful and made the stay very pleasant. Only gave the property conditions 4 stars as the walkways between the function/dining areas were particularly cold.

Happy to stay again
Facilities are really good just dated and need touching up. Food and drink was excellent and staff were very friendly and welcoming, Bedroom comfortable and warm . I would stay there again for business but feel it needs freshening up

Modest hotel in gorgeous Surrey parkland
The rooms were small but manageable. Grounds were lovely and we spent 1/2 hour walking around admiring the lovely trees surrounding the old part of the estate. The people on the reception desk were knowledgeable about the estate and recounted an interesting history of the different buildings. There was a single restaurant, the Steam Bake and Grill, which served a buffet-style breakfast. There was plenty of choice except some of the traditional breakfast food such as bacon and mushrooms were cold. The manager/host of the restaurant was excellent. The young people who served tea and coffee and cleared the tables were all very pleasant and efficient. The dinner menu of the Steam Bake and Grill Restaurant was disappointing. It had a special daily menu from a buffet and a limited set of dishes available a la carte. It was not really a full-menu restaurant as one would expect in a hotel, but I am guessing that hosting conferences is the primary business of Horsley Place.

AMAZING ESTATE TO STAY
An AMAZING ESTATE to stay on!! Louise, in the dinning room was VERY good to us as was Laura in the Bar! Steve, in the main building was an AMAZING & KNOWLEDGEABLE guide while we were there!! CONGRATULATIONS ON AN AWESOME VENUE!!!

More Cross Roads than coutry house
Disappointing that so much of the site implies staying in a wonderful country-house manor, when the reality is closer to Cross Roads Motel from the old TV show. The services were all fine and it operates well on an industrial scale, but with hundreds of people around it's not what I was expecting.

Toilet cubicles in men’s toilets near the restaurant were disgusting. We had no plug in our sink and only had a bedside table and light one side. Rooms were tired. Very helpful re early check in.

Likes the setting which was truly beautiful, spacious and well set out. Didn't like the lack of maintenance to the room. The shower feed pipe leaked at both ends, the basin plug leaked and the force of the water on first turning on meant you got soaked fully clothed. The room is too small. The restaurant staff were very good and the method of serving yourself with the help of the chef, most helpful and agreeable,

Not nice
The reception staff were excellent even though we had to get our passes renewed for each day of the stay. The room was very small with little space to use the chair at the dressing table. The wardrobe was too small to hang our clothes. Room too hot even with the door and window open and the weather was mild. The shower was extremely difficult to operate especially turning on and off and problems controlling the temperature. Breakfast choices decent however hot food items were lukewarm or cold and the staff were very poor. One member of staff was extremely rude. However the meter and greeter on the Sunday was very good. The outside waste bins were overflowing from Saturday morning and not emptied until Monday. The entry to the car park was controlled by barrier and staff slow to respond. On the first day, was asked simply ‘what do you want’. Overall a disappointing experience which has put us off going to a DeVere hotel again and would recommend to all family and friends not to go anywhere near. Wish I had taken photos to post here.

Good breakfast but uncomfortable bed
Breakfast was really nice and of very good quality. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful location. The Silver Linden trees are simply fantastic with their wonderful aroma. Unfortunately, the bed was very small for two people and I would certainly avoid a second time.

A good place to stay.
We were going to our daughter's graduation at uni of surrey. It wasnt far, it was quiet and comfortable. I managed to get a morning swim each day. A nice way to start the day. I would say labelling the pool as 'leisure sweet' cofused me.

Tired and in need of a freshen up!
Beautiful setting, but the hotel is in need of a refurb! The rooms are dirty and dated, the walls had stains all over them, the furniture is old and the bathroom was grim! The restaurant and bar area is nice, food was good! The staff are lovely and friendly. I would stay again purely because it’s affordable and the grounds are nice but don’t expect much if you’re booking a room!

Not as good a room as last visit ....quite cramped , and dusty , and black mould in showers . No soap in sink. Very expensive breakfasts compared to similar hotels. Excellent location . Great difficulty in finding our reservation on arrival.

Comfortable bed, quiet. Unfortunately room was not very clean. No phone signal in room (not your fault) but wifi does not reach the room we were in. We were flying next day and having issues checking in - had to keep leaving the room to communicate! Also no help offered and we had heavy bags and hotel is not a good environment to move large/heavy bags around.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely, generous breakfast. Penhaligon toiletries. Room very clean but a little tired. Bar and restaurant not that tempting - we had dinner in the Duke of Wellington pub just outside the gate. Recommend.

Worth a visit
The venue, and location are amazing, great short stay would recommend only let down for us was the broken air conditioning and the response to our initial reporting of the problem. That aside it's well worth a visit, definitely recommended

A fantastic hotel and grounds,nice room good service dinner buffet a bit basic breakfast was good but very badly let down by the pool area tiny changing room no sauna no hot tub no steam room disappointed.
