Cape Coddages II has only 14 units and if you don't like waiting for elevators, this condo is just one flight up (this building has NO elevator). Why search for a parking place when you can stay where two parking spaces are specifically marked for you? This is a delightful oceanfront two bedroom with a great pool, and the perfect beach and ocean view. The swimming pool is exclusively for guests at the small Cape Coddages II complex, it won't be crowded. You can relax on the lounge chairs while the kids swim. After enjoying the beach, there is an outdoor shower area to wash off the ocean and sand. Here, every day offers a choice of shopping, golf, and attractions from the convenient Surfside Beach location, or just relaxing on the balcony or the beach enjoying the sunshine. Pool is not heated and closes during the off-season. Inside, comfortable furnishings are ready for rest after days of activity, delightful decor keeps the "beach vacation" spirit in every day. Two bedrooms each have a queen size bed with memory foam cushion for perfect sleep every night. Ample closets and dressers provide plenty of storage space. Two full bathrooms and the bedrooms are on the same level as the living areas, no stairs to climb to bedrooms. There are TV sets in both bedrooms. The living room couch is queen size sofa sleeper. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, small appliances, pots, and pans. Dishes, glassware, and tableware are on hand. Linens are provided, beds will be made, some soap, paper towels, and trash bags will be on hand. You will not begin your vacation by making beds or running to the store to get toilet paper. If you're the kind of person who loves a limitless view of a beautiful beach, this is your vacation home. Every day begins and ends with the relaxing sound of the ocean and the serene view of blue sky and golden sand. The soft sand of Surfside Beach is just a few steps from the door. Surfside Beach is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still, a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer, along with over 100 golf courses. The Surfside Beach pier, restaurants and shops are a few blocks south from Cape Coddages II. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. Just a short drive north is all the attractions and shopping of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand shopping center, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, and one of the world's largest Ferris wheels. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden, it's just a few minutes south. The person renting this property must be at least 25 years old, have a valid credit card and be present for the entire rental. The location was great. Close to the top of July 4th golf cart parade route. Condo overlooks beach and was easy to walk out for parade. Condo was clean and kitchen stocked well with plenty of dishes etc. You may want to bring extra dish cloths/towels. Also even though its provided, if you are particular about toilet paper bring that. Bed pillows are low quality as well. Beds were comfortable. Managment was receptive and sends reminders through text which is handy. And again the cleanliness was definitely up to standard! Property appeared well maintained. Condo was comfortable. Also TVs have cable so it was easy to operate. The condo has 2 designated parking spaces. One in the front and the other we had to hunt for. The cons: The bathrooms are very dated (cracked tile, old fixtures and tub/showers). The rental provides very little in terms of trash bags, tp, soap, etc. (go to dollar store). The tv setup has absolutely no instructions and is impossible to operate. Do not plan on operating tv. Parking is EXTREMELY tight. Make sure you have a very compact rental! And, if you are traveling with children, the rail on the deck is very unstable! Pros- But, the location is awesome, everything in unit works even if a little old. You’re only steps to the beach, pool, and outdoor storage closet. Condo was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom tile is a bit dated, and the guest bedroom was quite hot compared to the rest of the condo. The only real complaint was an apparent leak from the condo above that shorted out the only light source in the kitchen. We spent the last full day and night navigating in the dark. Emergency contact was very kind and fast to arrive. Building HOA was notified, but the problem was not resolved while we were there. Overall the place wasn’t the cleanest, our bed had sand in it when we got in it the first night, and we saw a few roaches throughout our stay. The stairwell closest to our room was taped off which was an inconvenience when it came to loading, unloading, and getting our toddler in and out. The second parking spot was also awful as it had us cornered in between a large SUV and fence, therefore we had to leave the second car parked most of the week. Jul 19, 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Beach getaway We didn’t realize we’d have to go to a separate building to check in, and then the code didn’t work once we arrived at the property, so we had to use a really long code every time to get in and out of the door. The place was pretty clean, there was a broken screen on the back porch, and some stains in the ceiling... a bit out dated but fine for a short beach getaway. We were extremely disappointed the pool was closed due to covid- we didn’t know this ahead of time as our friends staying in cape coddages one said theirs was open- luckily we got to use theirs. The back porch was the best part because it was great to see the sunrise each morning- I wish it didn’t have the parking right below though. Our neighbors above us were very loud stomping through the night (which isn’t the owners fault, but def something to consider) and each night fireworks were being set off on the beach for hours- luckily the kids slept through it. Jul 5, 2021 Liked: Communication, listing accuracy Disliked: Check-in #### Quick July 4th Getaway The Cape Coddages Property is a bit dated. The exterior needs a refresh. The parking situation is poor. Each unit appears to have two spots, however one of our spots required you to drive underneath the property with no more than 3 inches to spare on each side of the side view mirrors. The stairs were carpeted which was an interesting choice for outdoor stairs. The stairs were also uneven. As we entered the property, we were greeted with two dead roaches on the floor which made me question the cleanliness of the property. This is the beach, so critters are expected. The unit itself was well appointed, and directly on the beach. The unit needed some minor upkeep such as cleaning the drains. The floors were uneven in some places which was just a bit strange. All in all a nice property for this price range. ##### Matthew H.
