Quality vs price, nothing to complain. We ate at the restaurant, service and food was excellent. We also took advantage of the their pool which was a plus for us.

The Sur Plaza hotel is a decent place to stay in Sur, Oman. It is easy to find when you drive into town. The restaurant has good food for breakfast and dinner. The staff was friendly.

nice mistake
I actually booked this place by mistake, but it turned out well. The hotel was a very pleasant place for an overnight stay. The room was spacious ( actually a surprise upgrade on my original booking ) and well laid out. Staff were very helpful. The evening meal was delicious, and the breakfast was okay - though I arrived a little too late, I think. Having fresh, rather than processed cheese would have been nicer. All in all, a good place for a business stopover.

Very nice hotel, spacious and clean rooms. Very good selection for breakfast. Dinner buffet also good, especially that you can get beer, wine or whisky with it. Would recommend it and would stay again.

Very comfortable stay in Sur
We had an excellent stay at the Sur Plaza Hotel - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was modern and spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner in the on-site restaurant. The location is perhaps not amazing - on the side of a highway into Sur - but you’d never know it sitting out by the pool. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Basic but good
The hotel is in a good location for the wadi’s and turtles (if you have a car). It’s a basic accommodation but comfortable, clean and has the necessities. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Clean and nice rooms. A bit outside of the old town or city centre, but ok if you're on the go as it's already near the highway to go north or south.

Good for 1 night stay
both buffet and breakfast dinner was great. Try Tandoori and garlic Naan. the hotel is a 3 star and you cannot expect much but reasonably it is ok for 1 night stay while you are travelling from a city to the other.

The only issue was the cost of the buffets, however the food was good, just over priced. Front desk staff very good and helpful.

clean and consistent stay in Sur
Nice, clean simple stay here at Sur Plaza. Not by the water but close enough that it's relatively easy to reach. There was construction on the main road so getting to the hotel is a little inefficient (access through a side street). Bathroom shower was a bit outdated but it was clean and functional. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Restaurant on site has breakfast, lunch and dinner options which is convenient.

The hotel is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was fairly spacious and the bed was large and fairly comfortable. It is a bit out of town so having a car is necessary. The only issue really was the dinner - a buffet is really the only option. Although there is an a la carte it was not really an option as they said the food would take ages. I understand this when the hotel is full, but when there was only a few of us it seemed unnecessary to have a buffet.

Needs maintenance
Alot of facilities need maintenance. Service was slow and not to the standard. Had to call for tissue in the room and toilet slippers. Also room key was wrong. Forgot my shorts on the floor in the toilet, came back later finding it soaking wet right where I left it.

Probably good option when in Sur
Probably comparing to other hotels in Sur this one was good. Comparing to prices in Muscan - much overpriced (we paid 10 poinds less and you can't even compare the quality). Room was ok, clean but very basic and with some stains on the walls etc. Bathroom nice, WiFi working (ask in reception for a code for each device). The best from all was the breakfast which was really good.

A nice place to stay. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. It looks like they have been updating the hotel a little. Some of the carpets looked new, the interior of the lift looked updated and they were painting when we were visiting. We enjoyed a pleasant stay at the Sur Plaza Hotel. Oman loves its polished marble, including their ramps. This made it nearly impossible to get our suitcases into to hotel. Even the staff had trouble negotiating the slippery slope.

Best hotel in town with spacious clean rooms. Rooms are a bit outdated. Big pool is a plus. They serve alcohol and the buffet is tasty. All the staff is friendly and helpful. We had a good time here

Highly recommend Sur Plaza Hotel
This is a very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel close to beach and 5 minute drive to town center. Has swimming pool, gym, bar and a restaurant. The staff were particularly gracious and helpful.

Stayed in the hotel with my wife for 2 night. It was a wonderful experience. The only issue we had was with booking through Expedia. Somehow it was not communicated to the hotel so they had no record of our booking even though we had the confirmation ref from Expedia. Still the hotel reception was understand and they accommodated us smoothly.

Sur Plaza - Convenient Proximity to Attractions
I was pleased to see that upon entering Sur, the hotel had signed the route leading to the hotel. I reached it with little difficulty. Upon checking in, I found the staff to be very friendly and eager to offer assistance with anything that I needed, and the room was clean and comfortable, although a little dated in design. Additionally, the Internet, although not as fast as a good cable service, allowed me to do some online banking without much trouble. With regards to the hotel food, the breakfast buffet was well-prepared with a more than adequate selection of Western and local options. There is a good Syrian restaurant near the traffic circle if you want to eat somewhere other than in the hotel for lunch, too. With regards to attractions, several castles and forts are a quick drive from the hotel, and there is also a service at the hotel which will take guests to view the green sea turtles at a reserve established along one of the beaches. That was the main reason that I had gone to Sur, and having one of the hotel's in-house experts do the driving to get me, along with other guests, to the site was perfect. I would stay there again.

Nice room but terrible food
The location is out of town on the main road and the room is clean and recently updated. However the noise from the bar is loud all the way up to the 4th floor and there was noise on both of our nights until after 2am each day. The worse part is the food. 7 days after our stay I still have a bad stomach and not fully recovered. If you stay here, check out the guest book as we are not the only ones to suffer with the food! Unfortunately we never read the guest book until we left! If you stay here, I suggest you go into Sur and eat there for a fraction of the cost.

Chambre bruyante et nourriture infame
Nous avions une chambre côté route de grande circulation, même si la chambre était spartiate c'était surtout le bruit de la route. Fenêtres qui ferment mal, nous avons dormi avec les bouchons dans les oreilles mais ca ne suffisait pas. Sinon on décourage fortement la restauration, nourriture chère, sans saveur (buffet dont nourriture froide). On était tous seuls à l'intérieur car ils n'ont pas voulu nous donner une table dehors. Petit-déjeuner idem, nourriture basse gamme. À éviter à tout prix.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and swimming pool.
Nice, refurbished hotel with clean rooms and kind staff. Hotel has a swimming pool in which you can cool down. By car you can find plenty of restaurants within 15 min distance.
