Beach Access Across the Street / Fully Equipped Kitchen The Comforts of Home - Beach Getaway: With the beach access across the street, the beach awaits you. 5 rocking chairs on the front porch are there for your pleasure. Peeks of the ocean from the front porch, master bed room, other bedroom and living room. Peek of the canal to the Intercoastal waterway is from back porch, dining room and a bedroom. We began renting in the Summer of 2010 after major renovations to include updated sleeper sofa, love seat and chair which provide a comfortable spot for you to watch TV with a blu ray DVD or enjoy family time. All weather proof windows and blinds have been installed, Barbour carpet throughout the house except for bathrooms, dining area and kitchen where Italian tile has been laid. Counter tops in both bathrooms now have been changed to beautiful granite. The Wet Bar area also now has gorgeous granite from Brazil as well. Appliances in the kitchen are Stainless Steel Kenmore or GE units (stove, refrigerator and dishwasher). Fully stocked kitchen with dinnerware, flatware, cookware and small appliances included. The Master bedroom has a king size bed (2016) with a flat screen, TV, blu ray DVD and a bathroom with a washer and dryer. The second bedroom has queen size bed (2017), trundle twin bed (2016), TV and blu ray DVD . The third bedroom has a queen size bed (2017) with a TV and blu ray DVD . A picnic table sits on the back porch for your enjoyment. Ceiling fans have been installed in every bedroom and the living room and each bedroom has a separate fan. There is a small entertainment center with a small stereo system and a host of various table games for your enjoyment. Outside, we have 6 beach chairs, a charcoal grill, 8 stackable chairs, 4 small side tables and rocking chairs with table in the small separate carport area. We also have 5 outdoor rocking chairs and 3 small side tables on the front porch and 2 rocking chairs and table on the back porch along with 2 convert-a-benches picnic table. We also have an outdoor enclose shower with hot water. A quaint and charming island, without crowds or flashing lights, Holden Beach is a beach lover's dream! The Town of Holden Beach, nationally recognized as one of the premier 'Family Beaches' in the United States. Holden Beach is proud of what we do not have. We are primarily a residential community, with a small commercial area. Holden Beach is a great place to relax, enjoy the beach and the natural wildlife that surrounds us. Collect shells and maybe some shark's teeth as you stroll along the shore. Build sand castles, read, swim, nap, and ride the waves. We’ve even seen sea turtles hatching! Experience a vacation that is tranquil and unhurried; relax, reflect and rediscover yourself and your family! Two golf courses are at Brick Landing golf course in Ocean Isle Beach. Numerous other courses are located in nearby Calabash and North Myrtle Beach. With famous Myrtle Beach, SC only an hour drive away, you can relax on the island all day and play in Myrtle all night! Take in one of the many live shows (House of Blues, Legends, Alabama Theater, Carolina Opry, Medieval Times, and The Dixie Stampede) or dance the night away at one of Broadway at the Beach’s nightclubs. Find some terrific bargains at the Tanger Outlets, where you can shop at Old Navy, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, Liz Claiborne, and many, many other famous brand outlet stores. Putt-putt at the most amazing putt-putt courses you have ever seen! There is also an IMAX at Broadway at the Beach. And did we mention the waterparks? If you are looking for great dining, Calabash, “The Seafood Capitol of the World” is only 30 minutes away. Holden Beach & Shallotte (only \~ 15 minutes away) areas have some goodies too with Surfers Cafe, Castaways, Provision, Silver Hill Grill, LouLous, Wing & Fish Company, Purple Onion Cage and more. Pizza at Patronies and ice-cream at Beaches N Cream are a MUST for our family and other yummy places. Or you can stay at home and cook your own meals in our fully equipped kitchen or grill out in the backyard! Don't forget Capt'n Pete's Seafood Market. There is also a Walmart, Walgreens, Belk, Marshalls, Bath & Bodyworks, Home Depot, Lowes Home Improvement and other shops in Shallotte and local shops like Lighthouse Gifts, Junebugs Bags & Boutique, Sugarbritches, and Holden Beach General Store, Beach Mart, Robinson's Hardware, lots of local beachwear shops etc etc etc Just minutes up the road from Shallotte you’ll find the historic town of Southport where you can stroll the shady, oak lined streets and shop for unique gifts and antiques. Take a day trip on the ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island where you can rent a golf cart (no cars allowed on the island) and tour the island. Or, take the ferry to Fort Fisher and visit the Civil War Museum or the Fort Fisher Aquarium. Pack a picnic lunch, feed the birds, and search for starfish among the mossy rocks. Historic Wilmington, NC is about 40 minutes away. With a colorful past, including lots of pirates, this is a fun city to tour, on foot or by carriage! Visit the USS North Carolina battleship while you are there! Lots of neat shops and restaurants are on Chandlers Wharf! Charleston, SC is a approximately 120 miles away, but well worth the drive! This house location was right across the street from the beach access, perfectly stock kitchen and house hold items. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of beach chairs and wagon down stairs for you to enjoy! Great front & back porch and plenty of parking too! The beach access is right across the street. Having use of the wagon and chairs was extremely helpful. The host was quick to respond and helpful for any questions we had. VRBO messaging was unavailable and owner was very quick to respond to direct messaging. Beach access is perfect and very close if you have little kids. Shelling at Holden is top notch. We love shelling, and it could have been a streak of good luck, but the stretch of beach was perfect right across from the house! Though it is not beachfront, it is a very short walk to the access point. The house itself was very clean with plenty of beds/bedrooms if you need them, plus availability of the the beach equipment was a very nice added bonus! Hosts were very communicative and gave clear instructions for the check in/out processes. All in all, it was a fantastic stay and we would definitely come back! ##### John N. I've never seen a rental with such a well stocked kitchen! The pier is indefinitely closed for needed repairs, but still a good spot for finding shells and sharks teeth. We found lots of sea biscuits thanks to the recent dredging. This was a very quiet location on a quiet island (ie no shops or restaurants), and very few people on the beach as it was mid-March and too cold to swim. Our preteen/teen boys still had a blast at the beach. We saw the most unforgettable sunset of our last day. Great communication from owner.
