Nearby communities offer, shopping, recreation, schools, churches, and restaurants. Parkland Beach is just 15 minutes from Sylvan Lake where you can find all kinds of microbreweries, farmers markets, and U-pick farms in the summer! \- 12 minutes from Bentley, and thirty minutes from Ponoka, Lacombe, and Red Deer. \- The beach is only a 5-minute walk away and has a playground, floating dock with a water slide, boat launch, washrooms, beach volleyball nets and baseball diamond. There is a secondary boat launch at Marina which is just beside the popular Gull Lake general store called Jorgey’s which offers paddle board and kayak rentals. \- In the summer, residents and visitors can look forward to long days of water activities, fishing, sun-tanning, barbecuing, and pelican watching. The fun doesn’t stop when it snows; Gull Lake is known for its excellent ice-fishing. A skating rink is also cleared and maintained each winter. \- Gull Lake Golf Course is just a stone\`s throw away and offers a fun, yet challenging course for all ages.
