Whitburn Road, Sunderland - Map
"It was close to the beach. Very different."
It was a fun place. Aĺl the Pullman carriages were different and distinguish. Really enjoyed using all the Facilites. A certain level of maintenance needed but nothing that affected us.

Best Western Roker Hotel

Roker Terrace, Sunderland - Map
"Honest place"
I was visiting this Sunderland and needed accommodation. The place was quite nice on the sea front with excellent bar and restaurant facilities. The price was reasonable and suited to what was on offer. There was refurbishments going on but this was not intrusive. A bit more than cheap and cheerful. Recommended.

The apartments were a welcome change to the budget hotels. Will not willingly go back to a hotel in the area. Very clean and comfortable in a central location

The beaches on the North Sea coast attract visitors during warmer months in Sunderland. Cultural sites include Hylton Castle, dating back to the 14th century, and the National Glass Centre, where admission is free. Despite its smaller size, the city has a robust nightlife with many bars and clubs near the city center. More than 100 shops can be found at Bridges Shopping Centre, also located in the city centre.
