This is your chance to stay in a beautifully remodeled church with tons of space, character and room. The main level boast of a vast open floor plan, kitchen with bar island, master bedroom with en-suite, and lofted areas. Seven bedrooms and five full bathrooms in total provide an ample amount of sleeping space for most large groups and families. This piece of Sturgeon Bay history is easily walk-able to all the bridge and the rest of down town. Warm up by the gas fireplace, enjoy your group at the huge dining room table, relax by the fire pit, get away from your group in the soaking tub. Sneak away to a loft and enjoy the view, read a book or just relax for a bit. Hungry? There are two full kitchens, two dining rooms and two living rooms. Master bedroom has a Murphy bed and en-suite. Main level has a handicap friendly (not ADA) shower as well as ramp entrance through the garage. The entire house and property. We are in the neighborhood if anything is needed. The West Side of Sturgeon Bay was at one time known as the town of Sawyer and the two parks at the end of the street offer amazing sunrises. The church is an easy walk to some of Door County's best shopping and coffee shops and 3/4 of a mile from the Steel Bridge and the East Side of Sturgeon Bay. Plains, trains and automobiles. This beautiful 125 year old church has been remodeled for a fabulous vacation. The building is old and the original character remains but there was more than enough bedrooms, bathrooms kitchen space and entertainment area's. The owners have provided everything needed to make our time there comfortable and fun. The home is located within walking distance to the bay and many antique, coffee and ice-cream shops. I was especially grateful the air conditioner kept us cool for such a large old building. I and my entire family highly recommend the "Holy Hideaway" to everyone regardless of your feelings about religions. We brought a part of nine spanning three generations and a pair of dogs, and never felt on top of each other. Most BRs have super comfy kings and there were so many bathrooms you never had to wait for anyone to get out for you to get in. Short walk to restaurants and attractions on Sturgeon Bay's east side, five minute drive (or a beautiful walk if the weather was nicer) to 3rd St/west side amenities. Hosts respond instantly to questions. And the building is lovely and historic! Hope we will be back soon! ##### Douglas R. The property is spacious, and everyone had room to spread out and do their own thing and not get in one another's way while still being able to come together at the same table for meals, games, and conversation. The hosts have thought of everything. There are enough chairs for everyone to sit around the fire pit, there is wood and kindling, and there are marshmallow forks. All you need to do is bring the marshmallows! The home was ingenious- so many clever and appealing rooms created from a former church. Plenty of towels, good sheets, toilet paper, (nice smelling!) soap in every bathroom and kitchen, and lovely decorating details accompanied a beautiful, but not fussy, home. A real plus was the actual separation of the downstairs rooms from the upstairs rooms, so our younger (and louder) family members could be themselves with their parents without disturbing the adults who came without children. Our family loved being there. We'd like to thank the hosts as well for taking the time to create a book of excellent ideas of places to eat, visit, and how to care for the house. Place is very clean and recently renovated. Plenty of space and well stocked kitchens. 2 Full refrigerators really help with a large group. Close to downtown. The interior of the church is spacious and open for families, but offers a number of rooms for privacy. The interior is impeccably designed. Location has access to everything you need and everywhere you need to be. Property owners were available but not at all obtrusive.
