The cottage has a double bedroom with a traditional style cast iron king size bed over looking the old walled garden. There is a twin bedroom with ivory traditional style cast iron beds. The bathroom has a bath with an overhead chrome shower. Stables Cottage is equipped with a bean to cup coffee machine, Smart TV, DVD player; Roberts Revival Bluetooth Radio and WiFi, a selection of board games and books. Stables Cottage is eco friendly with the power being generated from one of the Estate's two wind turbines and the heating and hot water provided by a biomass boiler. The cottage has its own private garden, with garden furniture and a barbecue. There is also a tennis court large trampoline, with a safety enclosure, a zipwire, a climbing frame and a Wendy house in the Estate gardens for children to use. We provide a welcome pack for guests on arrival including a jar of home-made Corsewall brownies, milk, bread, jam, butter, tea, coffee and fresh flowers from the garden (when in season). You'll find the cottage well equipped with the general basics too from washing up liquid, bin bags to washing powder and loo paper. We've created a host of magnificent woodland paths and coastal walks around Corsewall Estate for guests to enjoy during their stay. There are lots different options for shortening the walks or lengthening them. Many guests comment that they love the new paths as they don’t need to drive anywhere to walk – it’s just a case of stepping outside and the walks are right on their doorstep. Corsewall Estate has three pretty beaches on Loch Ryan - Boat Bank, Lady Bay and Port Beg - that Stables Cottage guests can explore. A pretty walk down one of the drives will take you to Boat Bank, which is the nearest one to the cottage. Both Boat Bank and Lady Bay are wonderful spots if you like collecting shells or pebbles. Bird watching down on the shores of Loch Ryan or in the woods is second to none. Lady Bay is ideal for paddling, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. The cottage is located in over 20 acres of gardens and woodland. In late January and February, the woods feature charming drifts of snowdrops followed by daffodils and in April and May the hue turns to purple with acres of bluebells. There is colour in the gardens throughout the year starting with camellia from January to March, followed by a riot of colour in April and May as the rhododendrons and azaleas come into flower. There is oodles of wildlife to spot on Corsewall Estate from roe deer and hares to barn owls, woodpeckers and, most importantly, this area is one of the last bastions of the red squirrel. The Blue Peter pub in the village of Kirkcolm is 10 minutes' walk away and does good pub grub. Two dogs are very welcome at the cottage - there are lots of lovely walks for them around the estate and down to the shore. We charge £25 per dog per week/£20 per dog per short break and we ask that you let us know in advance to book them in. We have a second cottage, Garden Cottage, about 50 metres from Stables Cottage, which sleeps 6 - so groups of up to 10 can easily be accommodated in both locations. Sep 18, 2017 #### Perfect for us, cosy and comfortable with everything we needed The Rhinns is an amazingly underrated place to explore. Favorites include the hidden bays and beaches, the beautiful Portpatrick and the excellent castles and lighthouses to explore. Our stay at Stables Cottage couldn't have been better. The accommodation was perfect for us, spacious, everything in the kitchen we needed to prepare our meals, very cosy and comfortable. Angus and Kate couldn't have been better hosts and made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely be back, thank you so much, Rich and Heather ##### Richard F. Jul 27, 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Calm and lovely We spent two wonderful weeks at Corsewall Estate with our kids (8 and 11 yrs). Kate and Angus were extremely amiable hosts. The kids loved the Estate grounds with the trampoline and the playground with the zip line. It\`s just a short walk to some very nice beaches (mostly rocky), too. Sandy beaches for bathing are also not really far, ~20 minutes by car. The surrounding has apparently not yet been discovered by a lot of tourists, which is somehow astounding given all the beaches and the nice things you can do and visit. Examples are some beautiful castle gardens (Glenwhan was our favorite but also Kennedy castle and Logan botanical gardens were nice), the ice cream factory of Cream o\`Galloway and the highland coo farm Kitchen Coos and Ewes. We can definitely recommend to holiday at Corsewall! ##### Alexandra & Julian C. Stayed 14 nights in Jul 2022 ### 10/10 Excellent #### David R. Sep 1, 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### No hesitation in giving The Stables 5 stars across the board. From being met on arrival by Kate and Angus to having free range of the estate during our stay, The Stables is the perfect escape. Dumfries and Galloway is a hidden gem of a place and the Corsewall Estate is a real jewel in the crown for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. We're keen walkers and love to be outside in any weather. We enjoy wildlife spotting too. During our stay on the estate we saw a variety of wildlife including roe deer, herons and buzzards. Garden birds are aplenty including my personal favourite, the wren. The cottage is a great base to explore the surrounding area from Lady Bay and Corsewall Lighouse within a few miles, to short journeys down to the Mull of Galloway or across the Portpatrick. Galloway Forest Park is less than an hour away and boasts some of the darkest skies in the country. You won't believe how many stars are visible on a clear night. A short walk from the cottage and you're on the shores on Loch Ryan with more wildlife and a great stretch of pebbly beach to walk along. We'll be returning for sure. ##### Chris L. Will keep coming back Stayed last year for the first time. The stables is a lovely comfortable bolt hole, ideal for quite cosy breaks and exploring the countryside. A very special feature is the surrounding gardens where you are free to roam and take in the scenery and wildlife. Go out around 7.30pm and watch the bats!! Jun 17, 2018 #### Photos do not do it justice The property was a beautifully and sympathetically converted barn, and everything described was spot on. The setting was on a working estate, it did not feel like a holiday setting, at times felt a little like you were intruding (maybe that's our stuff!). Everyone was really friendly and everything on the estate was available for you to explore which was great. The only reason I cannot give a five star rating is that for us, the cottage garden was not private enough and with the weather being so unusually gorgeous, felt there was no privacy to sunbathe. We would probably have enjoyed a winter break more as you could imagine how cosy and peaceful it would be. Everything else was perfect, and we felt privileged to have stayed. The location is perfectly based for exploring this area of Scotland. ##### Jayne H. Stayed 7 nights in Jun 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tim P. Apr 7, 2018 #### Great value for money Very disappointed we had to leave early to resolve work issues. What a beautiful area. If you want nice food & drink u need to venture a bit further into Port Patrick & Stranraer. Walks were amazing with our dogs. They loved it. My 10 year old was like a pup. Met the owner who had passed everything of to his son. Lots of interesting stories about the place. It was a pleasure to meet him. Lovely cottage. Hate saying this but it has to be said. We paid too little for what we got. Out of season yes, even so the prices are really below where the place is worth. There were two of us & the dogs & we thought very good value for money. It sleeps four and we thought cheap for two. They do a few extras too. Jam, butter, bread etc. Strongly recommend ##### Tim P. The situation is perfect for those wishing to have an away from it all break in surroundings which are tranquil. Wonderful walks over the Estate down to Loch Ryan and also coastal path walks near by. Attention to detail is obvious as is the care taken to help preserve the environment. This is a cottage which will be on our list of places to revisit. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, so warm and cosy but modern at the same time. Kate and Angus had made us feel very welcome by leaving us bread, milk, jam and biscuits which was lovely. They even left our children halloween treats which went down very well with our daughters. The grounds were fantastic and so big, you could have a lovely walk and not actually leave the grounds - our dog was in his element. Our children were able to use the trampoline, zip wire and climbing frame whenever they wanted to, which really made their holiday. The area was lovely with having the sea so close by and Port Patrick was great. We would definitely return to this cottage and local area. We had a lovely, relaxing week. Thank you to Angus and Kate who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. ##### Shelley Wild This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent Mar 19, 2014 #### Little piece of heaven Fabulous place, would defiantly return, just the place to recharge your batteries and relax. Jan 26, 2013 #### All expectations exceeded We can say only the best about our stay at Stable Cottage. The apartment was so beautiful and lovely furnished. Everything fitted together and we felt so comfortable and home. The arrangement of the Cottage is at very high standard, everything was new and clean. We didn´t miss nothing. The fotos in the internet were equivalent to the real apartment. Our expectations were exceeded. The owners were very kind and always keen to help us in any case. They provided us regularly with fire wood and any tip we needed for walks or shopping opportunities. They were always contactable and we felt absolutely in good hands. In any case we would recommend the Cottage to friends and relatives. ##### Jessica A. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Audrey S. Oct 16, 2012 #### The Stables Corsewall Estate We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Stables. The accommodation is wonderful - homely but with an edge of luxury especially the bed and bedding. I could have stayed in bed the whole weekend. We were met by Angus who showed us round and explained how we were welcome to walk over the estate and not to feel shy about asking for anything we needed. There was a very adequate welcome pack which is unusual nowadays and we could easily have brought no food and coped until the next day after breakfast - lovely. We knew the surrounding area quite well but the family had provided good guides to activities in the immediate area and beyond. The flat is dog friendly which is a must for us as our dog goes with us on all our holidays. He was as warmly welcomed as we were and I hope that we will have occasion to have another short break there as it was absolutely delightful. I just wanted to refit out my house when I came home. Thank you again Angus and Kate. ##### Audrey S. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport by IHG](https://www.expedia.ca/Paisley-Hotels-Holiday-Inn-Glasgow-Airport.h809324.Hotel-Information) > > [No Man's Fort](https://www.expedia.ca/Portsmouth-Hotels-No-Mans-Fort.h11536410.Hotel-Information) > > [Mercure Northampton](https://www.expedia.ca/Northampton-Hotels-Park-Inn-By-Radisson-Northampton-Town-Centre.h12543.Hotel-Information) > > [Old Course Hotel](https://www.expedia.ca/St-Andrews-Hotels-Old-Course-Hotel.h522846.Hotel-Information) > > [Unique Luxury Escapes](https://www.expedia.ca/Diss-Hotels-Unique-Luxury-Escapes.h29745570.Hotel-Information) > > [Atholl Palace Hotel](https://www.expedia.ca/Pitlochry-Hotels-Atholl-Palace-Hotel.h63637.Hotel-Information) > > [Perle Oban Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.ca/Oban-Hotels-Perle-Oban-Hotel-Spa.h993007.Hotel-Information) > > [The Garrison](https://www.expedia.ca/Fort-William-Hotels-The-Garrison.h24101351.Hotel-Information) > > [Bloc Hotel London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.ca/Gatwick-Hotels-Bloc-Hotel-London-Gatwick-Airport.h6594190.Hotel-Information) > > [Heated indoor pool & spa, countryside holiday cottage near the beach & park](https://www.expedia.ca/Hastings-Hotels-Heated-Indoor-Pool-Spa.h18971402.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.ca/Gatwick-Hotels-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h20753.Hotel-Information) > > [Bonkle House](https://www.expedia.ca/Wishaw-Hotels-Bonkle-House.h15996183.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park](https://www.expedia.ca/Hamilton-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-Hamilton-Park.h33810078.Hotel-Information) > > [The Green Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort](https://www.expedia.ca/Kinross-Hotels-The-Green-Hotel-Golf-Leisure-Resort.h1130671.Hotel-Information) > > [Pinewood Lodge](https://www.expedia.ca/Ibstock-Hotels-Pinewood-Lodge.h17183221.Hotel-Information) > > [Delta Hotels by Marriott Peterborough](https://www.expedia.ca/Peterborough-Hotels-Peterborough-Marriott-Hotel.h691233.Hotel-Information) > > [Uig Hotel](https://www.expedia.ca/Portree-Hotels-Uig-Hotel.h2261957.Hotel-Information) > > [Holiday Inn Express Hamilton by IHG](https://www.expedia.ca/Hamilton-Hotels-Holiday-Inn-Express-Hamilton.h1889137.Hotel-Information) > > [Luxury Beach House Rental with Hot Tub, 30 meters to Beach](https://www.expedia.ca/Looe-Hotels-Luxury-Beach-House-Rental-With-Hot-Tub.h27313935.Hotel-Information) > > [Beautiful Country Cottage private Indoor Swimming Pool ,Hot Tub, & Games room.](https://www.expedia.ca/Swindon-Hotels-Beautiful-Country-Cottage-Private-Indoor-Swimming-Pool.h34047025.Hotel-Information) > > [Pennyhill Park Hotel And Spa](https://www.expedia.ca/Bagshot-Hotels-Pennyhill-Park-Hotel-And-Spa.h517256.Hotel-Information) > > [Windermere Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.ca/Windermere-Hotels-Windermere-Manor-Hotel.h22280374.Hotel-Information) > > [Travelodge Gatwick Airport Central](https://www.expedia.ca/Gatwick-Hotels-Travelodge-Gatwick-Airport-Central.h10160516.Hotel-Information) > > [JA Mar Hall Scotland](https://www.expedia.ca/Bishopton-Hotels-Mar-Hall-Golf-Spa-Resort.h1077249.Hotel-Information) > > [Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough](https://www.expedia.ca/Peterborough-Hotels-Park-Inn-By-Radisson-Peterborough.h2254377.Hotel-Information) > > [Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Airport by IHG](https://www.expedia.ca/Paisley-Hotels-Holiday-Inn-Express-Glasgow-Airport.h519994.Hotel-Information) > > [The Stirling Highland Hotel](https://www.expedia.ca/Stirling-Hotels-The-Stirling-Highland-Hotel.h558482.Hotel-Information) > > [The Harlow Hotel By AccorHotels](https://www.expedia.ca/Harlow-Hotels-The-Harlow-Hotel-By-AccorHotels.h950.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson BLU Hotel Durham](https://www.expedia.ca/Durham-Hotels-Radisson-BLU-Hotel-Durham.h2226171.Hotel-Information) > > [Days Inn by Wyndham Hamilton](https://www.expedia.ca/Hamilton-Hotels-Days-Inn-By-Wyndham-Hamilton.h3924670.Hotel-Information)
