Unbeatable year-round location: Across the street from the Matterhorn Bar, less than a mile from Stowe Mountain Resort and the Stowe Cross Country Center, 3-minute drive to Topnotch resort, less than a ten-minute drive from Mount Mansfield, Smuggler’s Notch, and Underhill State Park, 10-minute drive to downtown Stowe, walkable to swimming holes. The Space: This historic inn has 3 floors and 5 units in total. This listing is for 4 out of 5 units across two floors. You may be sharing the common areas in and around the building with other guests during your stay. There is no elevator on site, you must climb multiple flights of stairs to access all of the units. None of the units have interior stairs to access rooms. Please inquire if you would like to rent any of the units separately or rent additional units. Summer travelers: Scenic Biking/Downhill biking, hiking, and swimming within walking distance from the front door: Ranch Brook is right at the end of the road from us (2-minute walk) - great spot for some fly fishing and casual waterfront time, 10-minute walk (less than half a mile) to the more well known Fosters swimming hole - a summer swimming destination for those that know it! Getting Around: The best way to get around is by car. We recommend bringing your own, but the closest car rental services are located in the nearby towns of Burlington and Berlin. We are also just a 3-minute walk to a Free Mountain Road shuttle stop that will take you to Stowe Mountain! We occupied all 4 units and were very comfortable. We had independence with each unit and the main unit allowed for all of us to be and eat together. The owners are very responsive and friendly. Unit 2 has a gathering places that allowed for everyone (23 people) to eat, talk and play games together. This is a great place to bring families from all over and have them feel comfortable. The young kids as well as the grandparents all commented how well they slept and how comfortable the beds are. The location is in a great place. You can walk to a convenient store and other activities are a very short drive. We all highly recommend this location and will stay here again. ##### RP M. The size of the property allowed 15 members of our family to stay in comfort. The big kitchen and living/dining space of unit 2 allowed us to do some meals together but all of the units had kitchens so people could do their own thing when they wanted separation. 10 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms meant everyone stayed in comfort. The views of the woods and sounds of the stream were very Vermont! The unit is beautiful and perfect for our family of 20 to all stay together during a wedding weekend. If I were to offer any constructive criticism at all, it would just be that the rug in what I will call the "main room" is a little unsteady in that it is taped down somehow but it moves in the middle and we almost fell a few times. Also maybe some rubber adhesive in the bathroom tubs to also avoid slipping.But check in/check out was a breeze. Dealing with Stay Heirloom staff was as well.
