Great location and Friendly Staff but tiny room

Posted 24-Jul-2017
We really loved Stockholm and this hotel was in a great spot. However, our room was tiny and there was no aircon so it was uncomfortably hot in the evening. The staff did give us a fan but this was little help. When booking, the image of the room is very misleading so highly recommend you upgrade from a standard room and double check that the room has aircon.

Stylish and comfortable

Posted 22-Jul-2017
Pros: Peaceful but convenient location, standard of decor, breakfast and helpful staff
Cons: -
Location: Excellent for exploring everything Stockholm has to offer either on foot or using the excellent public transport system (bus, ferry and tram).
Stayed for five nights and found this wonderful hotel was a brilliant location for everything we wanted to do and see n Stockholm. The reception desk staff are helpful and knowledgeable and of course speak impeccable English. The breakfast buffet provides a marvellous start to the day and an evening meal in the bistro is also a good experience.

Classy and cool hotel in attractive neighborhood

Posted 19-Jul-2017
Pros: The facilities are high quality and the vibe is classy but low key. Felt we were in a genuine Stockholm neighborhood rather than a tourist area.
Cons: The free wifi slows down between 8-11pm probably due to high usage during that time. There are two computers with printer on the 4th fl though.
Location: VIbrant, authentic neighborhood with myriad of entertainment options. Walkable to downtown and beyond. Subway and train station nearby.
Lovely cosmopolitan hotel on quiet square near lively areas and public transportation. Warm, welcoming yet professional staff. The daily breakfast buffet included with the room rate is excellent. Room was comfortable, especially the beds. Windows can open for those who enjoy fresh air.

Great Hotel. Within 5 minutes walk of Metro

Posted 19-Jul-2017
Pros: The decor, friendly staff, wide breakfast choice and inclusion in the price, the shower, the free coffee machine with easy access computer, USB charge
Cons: Not much to complain about but a slightly larger wardrobe would be nice.
Location: Located approximately 5 minutes walk from Mariatorget Metro. Great for getting into town. Walking to Stockholm Centraal Station takes around 35 mins.
On arrival you can see immediately it's going to be nice hotel. The outside entrance still done with the lights as it would have been as a combined hotel and cinema years ago. Owned by Benny from Abba, the hotel splits to the left for a bar and cocktail bar area, and to the right is the lobby and the lifts to all floors. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice towards the back of the hotel so was very quiet. Facilities inside the room were great including plenty of USB charging points on the beds headboard. Room had large tv on the wall with connection box if required any AV equipment to plug in. It also had a Blu-Ray player with a small selection of CD's / DVD's to play if you wanted to. A nice touch I thought. The bathroom was fairly small but adequate in size. The best part of the room was the shower. It was a walk in with both rain head and normal removable shower head, selected at the bush of a button. The shower was one of the best I've had, being very powerful and hot water available 24/7. The bed was comfortable with choice of pillows. You could even get more choice of pillow if you wanted an orthopaedic one by giving them a call downstairs. A mini bar was available and was handy for keeping cold water in. A tea / coffee machine was available on the 4th floor for guests to use for free. This is also where a pc with printer was kept for printing out any boarding passes for your return home. One other thing included in our stay was the free breakfast

Fantastic hotel

Posted 14-Jul-2017
Pros: One of the most welcoming and genuinely comfortable city hotels I've ever stayed in. After a few nights it really felt homely.
Location: The location is fantastic - a Metro station is just round the corner, but you can easily walk to Gamla Stan across one of the bridges.
This was a delightful hotel. The room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar are lovely - particularly in good weather as you can sit outside on the balcony overlooking the park. The hotel staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Stockholm.

Great hotel

Posted 14-Jul-2017
Cons: In one or two places the fittings need updating;one of the rugs in the Bistro is threadbare and the washbasin in our room leaked.
Staff were extremely helpful and the hotel wonderfully comfortable and quiet. We stayed for three days enjoyed every moment of the experience. It was convenient for all the major attractions and in a pleasing part of the city. The hotel is far from the ordinary and we loved it.

Great hotel and location!

Posted 12-Jul-2017
Pros: Nice hotel rooms, heated floors.
We booked two rooms, a deluxe for the adults and a standard room for our teenage son. I would definitely splurge for the deluxe room! In addition to more space, the bathroom has heated floors, you get free sparkling water every night before bedtime, and many other little things that add up. The morning buffet is great in the morning. The hotel is located across the bridge from Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old city. It's an easy and pleasant walk, though not as close as I originally thought it would be, though this is not an issue. During our stay we bought the 3-day Stockholm Pass. To get your money back you need to work a lot, especially with teenagers. Also the green hop-on, hop-off busses are rarer than the red ones, the latter not being covered by the pass. The main advantage though is that you avoid all the lines at museums.

Perfect hotel

Posted 10-Jul-2017
I never review anything, but wanted to give this stellar hotel a shoutout. Lovely hotel. Distinctive yet comfortable. Helpful staff, but also quite casual and low key. Great breakfast. Location is on a pretty square. Close to everything, but just enough out of the way to be cosy.

Nice hotel in great neighborhood

Posted 9-Jul-2017
Pros: Breakfast buffet.
Cons: Air conditioning.
Hotel Rival is a nice place to stay in Stockholm and within easy reach of the old city and attractions. The air conditioning in the room was not great making it somewhat uncomfortable. I think we were in an older section of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was outstanding!
