The place is a solid 30mim walk to the Stirling Old Bridge. It’s a lovely walk so I didn’t mind. It’s also right next to a bus depot with bus’ running into town frequently , very easy to use the public transit system. So overall I really enjoyed it . Short walking distance to Wallace monument and to Wallace Pub. Hotel was clean and had a good breakfast and a nice lounge. Overall really enjoyed staying here.

Nice quiet hotel. Staff were excellent. Decor is a little dated, so could do with an update. Ideal stopover for visiting the university .

I loved how quiet the area was. Facility is old and tired. First night the bed was terrible and barely slept at all, that being said I told the front desk and they had it replaced that day with a newer mattress.

The property is unique in that it is situated in the grounds of the University. It was comfortable, friendly, warm, food was great, staff were attentive, super decor andcfurniture. We loved it all.

Good value for money
This is great value for money hotel. Good location, food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Room was clean and comfortable, mattress was a little hard and pillows a little flat for my liking. Staff were very helpful and professional with great service.

We stayed here for a family holiday. Other than the fact that it a slightly far from the main area everything about this place is great. They had amazing breakfast and there are quite a few restaurants near this hotel. We had a comfortable stay!

Clean and neat but in need of a renovation
Hotel is in need of a renovation. Rooms were clean and neat but all quite old furnishings, tired beds and pillows. Bathroom didn't even have an exhaust fan, and the ceiling was peeling. Condition is generally ok, but definitely not modern. Buffet breakfast not bad, with someone serving you. Coffee was filtered coffee. Breakfast area and dinner area are also in need of a renovation. Location is great for the University of Sterling and quite close to the Wallance Monument, but far away from anything else. Good direct bus service into the city however.

Dirty rooms,mould around bath under seal and on grout, furniture was shabby and dated ,all scrapped could do with a lick of varnish, that was the 1st room, second room i was offered had a white stain dribbling from the bed, in bathroom skirting was rotting and broken discoloured too needs a good clean ,and the floor in bathroom had a big dip in it must be rotted i nearly lost my balance cos floor was uneven, the place needs bulldosed disgusting place, ive cleaned holiday homes schools etc etc all my life and to a very high standard so i know how to clean, cleaner needs to be trained on how to clean, i asked her to please clean bath in 1st room she sprayed the bathroom with a bleachy spray that made me wheeze , i have asthma, the woman didnt clean it proparly, reception and the bar staff were brilliant , stay away from this place .

Had a tricky first night and was not happy with my room. I was very tired from a long day at work and wanted to rest. Mentioned my concerns the following morning. The team were friendly and speedy in getting back to me with a changed room (which was perfect) and could apologise enough. Have stayed here many times in various accommodation throughout the campus, and the setting is stunning. Again, fantastic management, great team and excellent customer care. Would recommend to anyone.

Disappointing hotel
Problem with stairs to bedrooms as no lift, my wife has bad knees, my son had hurt his leg and I have a pacemaker so carrying bags up and down stairs not enjoyable. Shower head kept falling down mark in bath where it kept hitting. Rooms not serviced so towels not changed and no heater to dry on. No access to dining room in evening as only used for breakfasts and conference meals. Eat in bar but very restricted seating, food and service good. Access to Stirling by bus good. Due to conferences carparking overloaded during the day.
