With two serene bedrooms, a private hot tub on the porch, and peaceful views of the surrounding rolling hay fields and the sparkling Meramec River beyond, Sassafras Cabin is the place to hang your hat when you want to truly relax and soak up the surrounding breathtaking beauty of the Ozarks. A Lovely Living Space for the Whole Family Surrounded by towering mature trees, the modest facade of Sassafras Cabin includes a covered front porch and hot tub. Once inside, the main living area features two super-comfy overstuffed sofas with plenty of space for everyone to snuggle up in front of the fireplace. A large HDTV is mounted above the flames for a perfect family movie night with a big bowl of popcorn. Gleaming hardwood floors, stone walls, and knotty wood paneling add to the magical mountain cabin vibes. An Open Kitchen and Dining Area The kitchen is wide open to the living space, which is ideal for families and groups of friends that want to enjoy some snacks without sacrificing any socializing time. Natural wood cabinets surround the full suite of premier stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and electric range. The kitchen island has some casual bar stool seating for four, while the nearby dining table has seating for four more. This is the ideal space to flip a stack of fresh blueberry pancakes while waiting for the morning coffee to brew, or prepare some snacks to take on the hiking trails. Two Blissful Bedrooms The two bedrooms offer a tranquil space to recharge at the end of the day. Each bedroom has a comfy queen-size mattress set into a rugged log bed frame. There are also bedside lamps for reading in bed and ceiling fans overhead for comfort. The full bathroom features a jetted soaking tub and a separate step-in shower. There’s also a pull-out sofa in the living room for additional flexible sleeping space. An Idyllic Location on the Meramec River Outside on the covered porch, there’s a perfect spot for an alfresco meal in the warmer months, and a newly installed white rock firepit area with a charcoal grill for barbecuing and roasting marshmallows for dessert. Nestled on an idyllic 16-acre spread in the magical Missouri Ozarks, guests of Sassafras Cabin also have access to a communal riverside pavilion that houses a smoker, bbq grills, bar, hanging firepit, and a large deck. Spend your days hiking, mountain biking, fishing, or paddleboarding on the river, and your evenings sipping cocktails under the stars by the firepit. We were more than impressed upon entrance of the cabin. It was so quaint so beautiful clean with a beautiful kitchen with every dish you could need. The washer and dryer in the cabin was a life saver while on vacation. The bedrooms were perfect with beautiful views out the windows. If I could have made any changes at all it would only be two things, the shower was too small could barely wash my hair because you can’t get out of the stream of water lol barely turn around in there and second was the BUGS!! Holy cow being in the mountains in mid summer the bugs were horrific. We could not enjoy the hot tub due to excessive bugs outside and 2 out of the 4 guest got spider bites in their sleep and we all got ticks. There were spiders and ticks everywhere inside and out! To be expected in such a rural area. We used Kickin’ K floats for our float trip and it was great to end at the cabin property and not have to drive after a day of fun on the river. Perfect for me, my husband, two teens and our lab! It was clean, cozy, comfortable and had all the items needed in the kitchen to make a meal. You have to drive/walk to river access, but it's only a couple minutes just down the road (two great spots) and it's easy to get in and out. It was secluded enough to feel like you're away from everything, but also close enough to town to run and grab groceries, or other needed items. We met the owners and they were so friendly! We got a little lost at first coming in, so make sure you look for the signs that direct you to Murphy's Place, 4J Vacation Rentals property (Sassafras Cabin). It might be helpful to have exact directions sent once you book the place....since it's situated pretty far back from the road. Such a wonderful get away! We will be back for sure! ##### Megan M. We definitely had an experience- fishing and hiking on Christmas day, thanks to perfect weather and a beautiful location. The Sassafrass cabin was a comfortable fit and had all we needed.
