Summary: Welcome to High Rock Cabin, located in the northern region of the Red River Gorge. This cabin is situated in a private wooded setting with cliff and panoramic views. The Twin Arch development is nearby many local attractions. Come climb, hike, zip line, kayak, fly fish, or just enjoy a relaxing weekend in your own log cabin with a hot tub! The Space: High Rock boasts a gorgeous view, and must be accessed by climbing many stairs to the entrance. Once inside, there is a nice open floor plan and an awesome wrap around porch. All of our kitchens are supplied with the basics. From forks, spoons & knives, to pots and pans, you should have no problem cooking. However, due to high volume of guests, things like to run off. If there is something you're missing in the kitchen, please reach out to us to make your stay a 5-star experience! Guest Access: Please ensure to enter a VALID and operational phone number into your account/ reservation as all of your information regarding your stay will be texted to your phone. Thank you! The Neighborhood: Very close to the Nada Tunnel, private ridge on property backs up to Daniel Boone National Forest and views of the gorge! This cabin sits on a hill in a neighborhood-like establishment with others near by but is on its own lot. Other Things to Note: Each cabin is unique to specific items they include, however, RRG Getaways supplies the listed items below at all cabins as a baseline for guests. A starter amount of the following: hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items needed will be the guest's responsibility to supply. We do not supply anything considered perishable or consumable, this includes but is not limited to, coffee, salt, pepper, oil and the like. Pets are allowed at this cabin. We charge a flat pet fee of $50 for up to two pets. Please be sure to add any pets to your reservation. If you do not see where to do so, reach out to us so we can apply our pet fee. There is NO WiFi at this cabin. There are cell towers on the establishment and cell service is considered good. The TV is a smart tv and usable ONLY via guest’s cellular hot spot. There is a DVD player with a few DVDs and guests are welcome to bring their own selection. This cabin has city water and is considered safe for all uses. There is a charcoal grill located next to the fire pit. Guests are asked to provide their own charcoal, lighter fluid, and firewood if intending to use these amenities. Please note, there might be construction projects nearby, primarily limited to weekdays and daytime hours. While we anticipate minimal disruption to your stay, occasional construction noise may occur. We do not have access or information on construction schedules. Private parking at the cabin. Road that leads to the cabin is STEEP. The steepest sections are paved while the rest is well maintained gravel. The road is passable in a compact car with 2wd during normal conditions (icy conditions make this road difficult to navigate!) The cabin was small and just as described. No issues at all. The only small problem was the loud bangs randomly. The one loud bang we heard in middle of the night, it sounded like someone was pounding on our window and we flew out of bed. I believe it was squirrels jumping on the roof or tree branches falling. But amazing!!! A one lane road for both coming and going (thank goodness we didn't encounter an oncoming because there are NO pull off spots) but this makes it even more exciting. HIGH ROCK is up there and you really do have to pay attention to the signs. Parking is tight and only for 1, and the stairs are no joke but good exercise. Once on the deck, it's nothing short of beautiful both outdoors and in. This cabin is great for a short term stay in a home like environment. The windows from top to bottom give off some spectacular views, (really wish the windows in the back of the cabin were larger to get more of that mountain view but not complaining) and the sounds are all nature. We absolutely loved our stay with a couple of exceptions. The only bed is awful. If you or your partner are movers the other will also become one because the bed shifts with EVERY MOVEMENT and it is not at all comfortable. It also seems smaller than a Queen size mattress. The tiles in both the bathroom and kitchen are breaking and really should be replaced because tile cuts are worse than razor blades and any damage could cause major issues for someone (we wore socks or house shoes). The bathroom floor and bottom of the shower door look like there might be some mold, we didn't plan on staying long enough for it to become an issue, but it really should get looked at and cleaned up. There waa barely enough room for husband's truck in the driveway though. When i first walked in, just glancing around it wasn't bad, but then a couple more steps and i heard cracking under my feet. The tile floors in the kitchen and bathroom are broken and in need of repair. There were light bulbs out also, which I could deal with. After being there for a few minutes, there was a loud pop on the roof. It sounded like a gunshot. My husband said it was walnuts falling from the trees. This went on both nights we were there and we averaged about 3 hours of sleep. The windows were dirty. There were cobwebs everywhere and the couch. Don't even get me started. They definitely need attention soon. The floors were uneven and there is some broken tile in the kitchen and bathroom. There were cobwebs and dust on the fixtures and several light bulbs inside and out that were not working. I would also suggest a good cleaning of the windows. Hot tub had a funny smell to it, not like chlorine. A mixing bowl or two would be good to have as well. It was very quiet and secluded and just what we needed to escape and I would probably stay or recommend this place to others. The fire pit was also enjoyable. I think with a thorough deep cleaning it could be much better!! ##### Kimberly K. Being without Wi-Fi was tough at times but also made our stay more relaxing. Only thing we had a complaint about would be the flooring in the bathroom and kitchen needs replaced. ##### Tonya H. My husband and I are from Lexington and we love visiting the Gorge for the day! We wanted a weekend away and this little cabin was perfect for our staycation! It is nice and cozy and comfortably fits two people. It was the perfect relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back! ##### Caitlin G. Would spend the days hiking and the evenings hot tubbing and having campfires. Wonderful experience!
