The house is inspired by the spirit of Vicki's books ''My French Life'' and ''French Essence'' . Le Petit Bijou underwent a two year restoration led by the talented local architect Hugues Bosc and has been decorated by Vicki with many pieces sourced from local brocantes. Vicki has created something that works for those who would like to discover Provence in a stylish way. Le Petit Bijou is all about providing a supremely comfortable retreat after a day of discovery in the region. Le Petit Bijou is an air-conditioned, two story village house with a sitting room and dining area on the ground floor with a connected kitchen, guest powder-room and a lobby room. The first floor comprises a master bedroom and a double bedroom. The double bedroom opens onto a terrace with views over the garden of the historic Hôtel de Sade and the village rooftops. There is a separate WC and a bathroom with a shower and bath on the first floor. Le Petit Bijou was featured in the August 2014 edition of ''25 Beautiful Homes''. Le Petit Bijou is right in the center of Saint Rémy-de-Provence in the historical precinct close to the Musée des Alpilles and the Hôtel de Sade. It is in a quiet street off the rue Carnot with its restaurants, a patisserie and a presse. Saint Rémy’s Wednesday market is only a few hundred metres away. The spectacular Alpilles mountain range and the gorgeous village of Eygalieres are nearby. Saint Rémy-de-Provence is a brilliant jumping off point for Avignon, Aîx-en-Provence, Arles, Maussane-les-Alpilles, Marseille, Nimes and the Camargue. The Luberon, Gordes and Sénanque Abbey with its lavender fields are about 50 minutes away. The area is well served with transport links. By train: It is 20kms and 25 minutes’ drive from the TGV fast train station outside Avignon. The TGV operates direct to Avignon from London in the summer months and from Paris year round. By air: It is 75kms and about 55 minutes’ drive from Marseille Provence airport. There are daily flights to Marseille from London by British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair and by Air France from Paris. XL Airways operates a New York to Marseille service. The smaller Avignon airport (20kms and 20 minutes) is served by Flybe from Southampton. Rental cars are available at Avignon TGV train station, Avignon Airport and Marseille Provence Airport. On si sent très bien. Emplacement idéal, et très calme. Hôtesse de maison très sympathique, au petit soin. Ci ha accolti il ns referente Patricia che e’ stata efficiente nella guida , gentile e disponibile. La casa e’ impeccabile e completamente ristrutturata di recente, con finiture di pregio ad un livello decisamente sopra allo standard. Nulla e’ lasciato al caso,dalla cucina fornita di tutti gli elettrodomestici e con stoviglie ricercate, alle camere arredate con poltrone Luigi XVI e lenzuola di lino ricamato per il letto. Il bagno principale, oltre alla doccia ha una magnifica vasca in ghisa. Delizioso il terrazzino con vista sui tetti. Ovunque si trovano(con grande fiducia dei proprietari verso gli ospiti) oggetti preziosi comprati nei mercatini locali e libri di ogni genere ed interesse, molti di questi antichi. On sent que les propriétaires ont fait de cette maison un endroit où tout est pensé pour que l’on s’y sente bien . La maison était très bien chauffée à notre arrivee , Beau linge . My wife and I rented this property for 9 nights in early to mid October, 2025\. The property was probably the nicest of our 8 locations DURING OUR MONTH LONG STAY IN France. It was DEFINATELY the largest property in terms of living space. First floor had a living room, dining room and kitchen all in an open floor configuration. There was a half bath on the first floor as well as large room that didn’t have a real purpose (too bad actually). There is an over/under washer/dryer off that room which we used frequently. A stairway led up to a landing with one bedroom on the right (with a terrace) and another bedroom to the left (we used that one) a bathroom (literally) with a sink, tub and shower. Another half bath was adjacent. The house was clean, quiet and SO CLOSE to restaurants (lots), cafes, a museum and a small bodega type store. You cannot park at the location but there is ample, free parking about a 10 minute walk. The house is comfortably furnished, beds comfortable, lots of hot water and towels and a large smart TV I. The living room. The kitchen has an induction oven (never figured that out) and stovetop, we mastered that. Microwave, toaster, full kitchen accessories, coffee maker and tea pot. The on site manager, Patricia, is a gem. She had a bottle of wine and some milk on the fridge and we had her help us with the appliances on several occasions. As helpful as she was, her English was on par with my French. The house is beautiful and in an ideal central location. All the amenities were provided, and the property manager was exceptional. She was very helpful and always available. We spent our days sightseeing and returned mid afternoon to enjoy the comfort of the home. We especially enjoyed our evening/afternoon cocktails on the small balcony off the guest bedroom. The TV has every channel you need to watch shows and movies in english. We were not impressed with the internet speed. You could not access the internet upstairs. The parking is not allowed near the home. But it is only a 4 minute walk to a city parking lot with free parking. Restaurants, cafes and most importantly to us, a bakery is very near. Every thoughtful choice and accommodation was chosen by the Archers to provide a unique blend of luxury and comfort. In the middle of town, and yet you feel as though you are in the countryside. It is right in the heart of Saint Remy de Provence, and you can easily walk to everything. The house is also very quiet, tucked back just behind the square.
