I chose this hotel for a three-day business trip because of the pricing of other 4-star establishments during the late June "White Nights" festival in St Petersburg. I took a single room here at a rate approximately 50% cheaper than that of my normal choice, therefore was willing to accept some shortcomings . However, I was delighted with all aspects of this hotel, which - even as a regular traveller to Russia - was new to me. The hotel was clean, airy and welcoming. Although obviously used mainly as a tourist hotel during summer, it has everything required for the business traveller. The single room booked was relatively small, but was well-equipped, including an ironing board/iron and coffee-making facilities. The free water was an appreciated gesture on arrival on a hot, sticky day. The wifi - which requires re-entering after three hours to keep it free - was good enough to support trouble-free Skype communications. The room and bathroom with shower were modern, equipped with clean linen and towels. Reception staff - a mixture of Finnish and Russian nationals - were universally helpful with a very good standard of English. One additional advantage of the hotel is that the Technological Institute metro station is only five minutes' walk away, which gives cheap and quick access to the city centre. I will certainly use this hotel again for future business trips.
