Then we bit surprised by the size of the place.booked as a cottage, it’s actually one-half of a cottage and the size of a medium hotel room. There is a kitchenette, but it is equipped with only two or three dishes and glasses. Towels provided were very thin and but the worst thing was that we were promised a queen size bed, but ended up with a full size one that was made up with king size sheets. Very uncomfortable as they bunched up. When we voiced this concern, we were told that housekeeping couldn’t enter our room during our stay for security reasons. Firstly, we had to make multiple detours and “questionable traffic maneuvers” to get to the property because of road construction that nobody mentioned. Secondly, our cottage was unlocked when we arrived mostly because the keypad was broken. (Nobody checked?) we had to wait almost 1 1/2 hours before we could go out for dinner waiting for someone to confirm it was broken and find a physical key we could use. Thirdly, no one answered the phone and the messages were basically just pre-formatted and sent out on a prescribed timeline rather than responding to our requests. We got a message insisting we be “checked out” no later than 10 a.m. but there wasn’t any direction on what to do with the key and no staff to give it to. Our neighboring guests couldn’t have been kinder or more supportive though and the unit was certainly very clean. There was a burnt out lightbulb that was also a bit annoying. I am not optimistic it will happen but it would at least be a gesture of good faith if the host were to offer some sort of refund for the inconveniences. ##### Gail B. Great location, very clean and plenty of space. Cannot check in early - so do not expect an early check-in, but they are true to their word on everything. I would stay here again without hesitation. This is a very self-serve type environment, but as long as it works - and it did - we are happy! Stay here - do not hesitate. We stayed in The Palm Cottage and it was so peaceful and well decorated.
